:( :( argh. Well I am working on this now, but I have not had it actually happen to me yet.

- if anyone who is reading this has the filter stop working... please answer the following questions:

1) does the LFO affect the filter when it's in this mode? go to Active Panel mode, turn up LFO modulation amount knob, turn up Mod wheel, make sure LFO is in a mode where you can hear what it's doing... turn up resonance so you can hear if the filter cutoff freq. is moving... let me know

2) when the cutoff is "dead" like this, what is the actual cutoff frequency, roughly speaking? is the filter open all the way? is it closed all the way, or is it somewhere in the middle?

thanks much! If you can answer any of this from memory of previous events, that's also good.

Amos

The LFO did not affect the Cutoff Frequency when the Cutoff knob was toast.

The resonance was functional(with little effect), and, EG amount was also ineffective, suggesting to me that the filter was close to all the way open. Mine was sitting around the 1.3KHz mark when it went dead.

Hope this helps :)

Very similar issue to the one I described before when using the Sub Phatty keyboard in local off on a vsti track when ableton is sending a midi sequence to the Sub Phatty.
just fixed this! It was a real bug, and now it's gone. :)
Hi Amos, any new os version to fix it?

Octave value is back to the previous one
more on this. It seems to happen with local off, not with local on.

confirmed! Looking at this now. Thanks :)
new firmware version in the next day or two, with lots of fixes...
(Howard: aftertouch now has smoothing on it... it was supposed to have it already, looks like I forgot to hook it up til now)

cheers,
Amos

New firmware! Lots of bugs fixed.

- aftertouch smoothing added
- filter cutoff MIDI smoothing increased
- EG Gate Source MIDI CCs fixed
- everything from earlier in this thread, fixed. ;)

I'm doing something different with Relative pot mode; let me know if you like it.
You should be able to use the Sub Phatty "wrong" now with respect to Local Control - you can have MIDI feedback from your DAW with Local Control turned on and the Sub Phatty should still work, even though this is improper usage. :)

here's the download:

http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/su ... _1_2_6.syx

...Editor beta coming very soon; I'll probably blast it out to everyone on my testing list in the morning.

Cheers,

Amos

Hello Amos,

The download link is actually not working, seems that the "S" from downloads is missing.

Here is the link:

http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/su ... _1_2_6.syx

( And I'm interest in beta editor testing too.(for windows if you make a windows beta version). )

Thanks.

Sub Phatty Firmware ver. Beta 1.2.2
OS X 10.8.4
Logic 9.1.8

Ver. 1.2.2 Beta appears to have solved the volume issue where, if a cable was pulled out of the output, and headphones plugged into headphone jack, no output would occur at all. A restart was required.

However, i've notice a few things with ver. 1.2.2. Not sure if they were present before.

With Local Controll off while recording MIDI:

-While recording, octave buttons transmit midi but have no effect on actual octave or lights. Also no change at all during playback, though msgs. were recorded. (This one is a real curse)

-While recording, Master Vol knob transmits midi, but has no effect on actual volume. When playing track back though, recorded midi transmits the vol change and it is heard.

-Fine tune works but doesn't transmit midi

You should try firmware v1.2.6 that was posted above yesterday.

I'll check the Master Volume thing; that sounds novel.
Fine Tune isn't supposed to transmit MIDI.
The other things you mention are fixed in the latest v1.2.6 firmware.

Cheers!

By the way this could be a good idea to control the fine tune parameter of vstis :D

I was just thinking this. I've been mapping the Sub Phatty's knobs to NI's Monark as so many of them obviously match. This has been really handy rather than having to remember what's mapped where.

Also, has anyone noticed that the Sub Phatty's filter cutoff knob maps automatically to the filter cutoff in u-HE Diva? It was a nice surprise as it means instant hands on filter cutoff control when browsing patches which is very very useful. None of the other knobs map automatically, just the filter cutoff.

Had not noticed the connection to DIVA - but Minitaur filter and osc respond well when you use Sub Phatty as controller too :D
