List of budget synths you'd like to aquire within 1 year.
I really really want a Yamaha SK-30. I have no idea why. I mean, I do know why... they're so ridiculously big... and they packed so many limited bordering on cheesy/ineffective synths into the thing. It really is the most ludicrous of the string synths, and that's appealing to me. I'd probably end up selling it, just like I do with ALL of the string synths I've wanted, bought, and sold (Korg Delta, Moog Opus 3 [most WRETCHED of Moogs], Korg Lambda [most WONDERFUL of string synths!]), but still... I want one.
I would love an ARP Axxe to drive my Avatar.
I wish there were more Roland SHs to buy. No, not that reprehensible 101, but more along the lines of the 1000, 2000, and 3a. (or 3) I guess I don't have a 2000 anymore. I should buy that one. The SH series synths are the ones that have stuck around even when better synths have been sold... their aesthetic simply cannot be beat, and they have a really fun and dorky sound.

The organ part seems like it'd be pretty fun... although I'm not that keen on the fact that it's digital. Why anyone would go to the effort of having a digital organ in an analog synthesizer, I'm not entirely sure... but as we know, Yamaha was gearing up for something. ; )

I'm gonna stay on topic. First off, if $1000 is a budget synth you must be making a lot of money or live nowhere near NYC. I bought my JUP-6 for $850 and that is a lot of synth! Here are my choices: (actually budget)
The Micron: It does some things the ION doesn't and it has the same sounds!
Casio CZ101: Yeah it's toyish, but does some cool FM stuff.
A stylophone: If it's good enough for Bowie and Kraftwerk it's good enough for me.
Yamaha CS01:Breath control! and some other very usefull features.
Circuit Bent SK1: great for new interesting sounds and samples
PAIA Gnome: a very cool and collectable wind and FX box
Oberheim Matrix 1000: 1000 great sounds in a single rack space
There are a lot more! All of the above can be found for $300 or less. Of course if you want to spend $500 then you enter a new class...Pro One, Sh101, etc. Any synth can fit your needs if you crawl inside and really learn their full potential.

I've been looking at picking these three up, to round out my very small collection.
-Korg Poly 61
-Casio CZ-101
-Moog Rogue
I would love to have those. Will I have those within a year? Doubtful. I'll just keep going to thrift stores and buying up the toy keyboards, in the event I will someday circuit bend them. They are still fun anyway.
Toy Keyboards already aquired:
-Casio VL-1 (not from the thrift store)
-Casio PT-80
-Casio PT-100
-Nasta Hit Stix
-Yamaha PSS-6
-Yamaha PSS-270
-T.I. Speak and Spell
-T.I. Speak and Math
-2 Animal Band Keyboards
-UniSynth
-Gorilla Amp
-RMS Amp
Should I buy the Talking Whiz Kids computer? I just don't know. Gimmie some money.
