If I had a Voyager and was more of a musician, then I would probably be interested in joining the Moogspace thing. But being an amateur analogapher

(and we shall not speak of my musicianship) I really only need to come to this forum and read up on things I want to learn, and occasionally ask some questions. I hope the forum is kept as a sort of middle ground, a place for both paying and non-paying members to congregate. The only problem I see with that, though, is that non-paying members might try to convince paying members to cancel their memberships. But really, is that going to happen?
As for all the talk about this forum helping to promote Moog's products, I'd have to agree. I have more Moog products in my sights now than I did a few years ago, when I knew nothing about CV. Like the CP-251, low-pass filter, even the idea of getting a second Ring Mod because they're so damn useful.
Concerning the spambots... there are measures that can be taken to reduce them. I've never set up a forum, but I've heard enough from people who have to know that you can set up account verification. That can be done with visual confirmation (those weird images with letters and numbers) and email verification (you have to click on a link to activate your account). I think the visual verification is more effective...

And anybody who has surfed the Yahoo! groups knows that those visual confirmations STILL don't prevent spam.
Seems like spam gets posted here on weekends when the moog team is away.
I think a subscription forum is a good idea. It keeps the spammers out, and the moog team can devote their time to getting more cool products out the door instead of deleting spam posts.

:::imagines Moog technicians drearily marching away from the production floor to spend time deleting the spam posts:::
You've changed my mind completely! If it means I won't have to look at the 1-4 spam posts I am CRUELLY SUBMITTED TO each week on this forum, AND it means that the harried Moog technicians and designers won't be forced by inhumane management to spend their hours deleting posts about Beyonce and Urination, then I am ALL FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE!
Come to think of it... we need to get active to protect the Moog technicians... if Moog is providing an unfit work environment where they have to do the work that SHOULD be done by qualified web technicians, then it's just unfair!!! Is there a synthesizer maker union?

Why can't Moog just designate a couple of us dedicated users (volunteers) as forum moderators? I mean this would solve the problem. It's our community and although were fortunate enough for Moog providing us these forums I don't expect them to moderate them all the time. It's time consuming.
