I don't know what would be harder to keep alive, A Clavinet or a PolyMoog. The last few D6's I looked at all the rubber in the action had turned to powder and nothing worked. Don't know if you could even get the parts. (Too bad, as they sound GREAT when they are in good condition!)

Just added an Etherware Theremin Plus to my rig. Kid tested.





I will do extensive testing with it in my rig this weekend.

Your theremin is and your kids are adorable, analoghaze! Nice job with not plugging into the amp, though! A parent must keep his sanity one way or another.

Here is the rig as of today. It's close to everything I want now. (Just need to expand the modular from here on out.) Gonna sell off some of the old stuff. (CZ-101, Solina String Ensemble, Hammond M-101/Leslie, Miracle System.)

I see the mod box needs a few more modules.

I've got a step sequencer for it, but I'm waiting on a couple of components to finish repairing it. Then the expansion goes nuts. I've found VC Flangers and Phasers in 5U format. A Quad Quantizer and some other goodies. I'll be into 2nd case soon.
Spent the last hour learning how to do multi-filtered percussion sounds.

Good resource! Too bad I let the last one get away. It was $100 because it 'didn't work well'.

That's a very eclectic mix of instruments.

Micromoog with CP-251, MF Freqbox, and Boss digital delay. Microkorg, Casiotone CT-310 (from '84 I believe?), Korg Electribe EM-X, homemade Square wave oscillator, and sometimes a handheld tape player.

My Moog-based synth rig is a little unconventional, but its great fun and is working out very well for me. I play my bass guitar through an octaver set to ouput -1oct with no dry signal (played an octave up the neck) into an EQ and then the Freqbox(significantly aides in tracking!), or other 'waveshaping' dirt boxes, then filter, modulate, etc. Im also programming beats in Ableton and using an FCB1010 foot controller, and using the MP201 to MIDI sync my modulation with Ableton Live's beats (the other guy in the band uses a looper midi synced to me, and plays guitar/keys). Most of the small board is split into two channels that are run either separately or in parallel (blending saw and square or stacking octaves), and Im going to get another line selector and experiment with this on the big boards, putting the moog LPF and Photron (MS20 filter clone) in separate loops- the line selector has modes allowing use of the loops individually or in parallel with level control. Ideally I would just have two identical or similar parallel chains I suppose, but I don't want to sacrifice that much real estate to full two channel/oscilator etc setup.. So, I'll try the work around the second parallel stage with filters in it, and send a wide frequency range for the filters to work with for parallel LP/HP filtering and the like.

The boards can also make plenty of sounds with out the aide of any input signal.. but that can get a little noisy real quick

Now with the MP-201 firmware release coming, it seems silly not to try out a couple oscillators with one of my MIDI controllers and the MP201 doing the converting. It should be easy to route Im thinking, and I might be able to set up a simple patch bay to allow a couple quick plug changes and route two or three oscillators to the beginning of my chain and still have some filters available modulated by the mp201 and played with a midi keyboard. Anyway Im just brainstorming as I've never tried any of this kind of stuff, but I think it should work. All I know about synthesis Ive learned since I stumbled into pedals and then CV controlled pedals with an emphasis on synth sounds; all of a sudden the synths in Ableton Live made sense, and thats how I started using it to make percussion sounds for beats.. then the MP201 came out(!!!) and allowed me to tie the two elements together; the control it offers over my analog gear is amazing and the release of the MP201 couldn't have been more timely in my musical journey.

The first time I plugged into a Moogerfooger, I was blown away by the depth and warmth of the sound, as well as its ability to go as far as you wanted to take it; my second was the Lowpass filter, and its been all downhill ever since! The Moog sound inspired me to try more Moog stuff, and then the two Moogs started talking and started to show me sounds I never dreamed from a bass guitar, it inspired me to keep exploring and learning as much as I can about synthesis- and then apply it to transforming my bass guitars sound.. as well as exploring other aspects of synthesis.

Anyway, enough rambling and gushing- here's my rig:





The A/B box next to the MP201 is for efficiently switching between two subdivisions within one preset for accurate filter modulation. The 2nd Lowpass filter is actually broken, and just a placeholder for the Bass Murf I sold, and will be replaced with a MIDI Murf. Two of the filters on the large board will most likely be removed and replaced with a 2nd Freqbox on the small board for a true dual oscillator setup. Those 5 (lol) filters are all unique and sound great, and 3 of them are voltage controlled, but its too excessive and redundant having so many variations of the same thing, when I could expand my pallet in better ways.

I have everything powered from two 'Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+'s; one mounted under each board. The PP2+ has 8 isolated outputs with a couple different voltage options and a courtesy ac outlet that you can plug a wall wart or power strip into (i have one power strip mounted under the big board).

For the Moogerfoogers, you need to buy reversed polarity cables for the PP2+ (they're white on one side instead of black on both ends). You could power the whole line of Moogerfoogers including the MP201 and CP251 with one PP2+ and a small power strip, or dual sided plug (may not even need one) to plug into the AC input on the back of the PP2+; ultimately only one power chord needing to plug into a wall outlet.

The boards are 'Pedaltrains'; the small one is the Pedaltrain 2, and the large one is a Pedaltrain Pro. The current models come with brackets already mounted for the Pedal Power units; all highly recommended

I've been a Reason buff for well over 5 years. It's a great application and I love doing sound design in it. It works great for digital stuff like huge soundscapes/pads type of things or FM but when it comes down to the subtractive analogue nothing beats the real deal.
