You could try a Sherman Filterbank, they have filter types continuously variable from LP to BP to HP. Not to mention there are two filters per unit which can be run in series or parallel. $750/$780 from our good friends at Nova Musik.

Just Me: If you mean there is a broken Polymoog going for cheap, then it must be gone already.
As for other filters out there, yes there are some alternatives, but then again, none of them are set up with accurate tone shaping or setting up formants in synthesized sounds in mind. That's the problem with most other solutions. You can't just dial in a frequency like 1700 Hz on a knob that is marked 0 to 10 and covers the entire 0 to 20KHz range. That's why the Polymoog Resonator is much nicer to work with when doing such things. And that's why there's no exact replacement, just things that are similar. And being able to easily switch between LP,BP, and HP modes is also nice, without having to having to re-patch several patch cords just to hear the change in sound and decide if you like another mode better. It is kind of ridiculous that with all these modular synth companies now, a module geared toward this kind of thing isn't available.
