Just to clarify, this doesn't mean that if you have a Tribute but want the Stage presets, you should load the Stage version of the OS update... this will not work, because the hardware ID tag in the software will not match your hardware.
You can certainly use the Stage presets on the Tribute, but the way to do it would be to send a sysEx patch bank file containing the Stage presets to your Tribute.

Cheers,

Amos

Will that really work, in spite of the Stage's extra "second destination"?

BTW, is there some way to get the patches for the samples in the LP presentation (http://moogmusic.com/detail.php?main_product_id=227)?
Would be nice to check out the settings ...

The sounds used in the sample player on that page are all taken from the Tribute edition factory presets. Usually the patch name is mentioned in the name of each sample.

As for loading the Stage patches onto the Tribute, I have tried it and they sound fine. A great number of them don't even use the 2nd mod destination; it's not that crucial for your basic bread-and-butter type sounds. There are some patches which will sound a little different without it but still very good, and only a few (Mod Dropkick comes to mind) where it makes a serious difference. On the whole, it's just another set of patches using the same analog sound engine, so no worries... :)

Amos,

I've asked before: will the Stage presets be made available for us to upload to our Tributes? I'm very new at monophonic Moog & could stand to learn from all all the sounds I can get my hands on. My thread asking people to list their favorite patches failed as miserably as the same type of thread for the Voyagers. Anyway, your consideration in this matter would be much appreciated.

Even if Moog does not host the Stage sysex presets, I'm sure if you ask for them on the forum, someone will send them to you.

I'll bet both Tribute and Stage factory presets will get uploaded to Moog Space to make them available to both sets of users.
