Sub 37 pre-release Editor 0.9.25 + firmware version 1.1.13
Re: Sub 37 pre-release Editor 0.9.25 + firmware version 1.1.
Hi Paul_sub37, I must have my midi ins/outs setup wrongly, my editor is showing in the editor settings box at the bottom in the light grey font `soft 0.9.26 Sub27 disconnected` and my sub37 does not respond to the editor or the editor to the sub37. On the editor in the editor setting I have it set up with the midi in and out to the sub37 and KB controller to my Launchkey 61, yet it works fine in stand alone. Cheers Glyn.

you might try deleting the app preferences; it will rebuild them and this can clear out some config errors.Glynbo wrote:Hi Paul_sub37, I must have my midi ins/outs setup wrongly, my editor is showing in the editor settings box at the bottom in the light grey font `soft 0.9.26 Sub27 disconnected` and my sub37 does not respond to the editor or the editor to the sub37. To do this, in the editor go to the Librarian page, right-click on the Factory Presets folder (or any preset in the Preset Library section) and choose "reveal in Finder"/"reveal in Explorer" to open the preset library folder... go Up a folder or two and you'll be in the main Sub 37 Editor folder and you should see two files named "Sub37 Editor.prefs" and "Sub37 Editor Standalone.prefs". Delete these files and re-launch the plugin editor, see if it's able to connect then.

Important note for Windows users
This is mentioned in the documentation, but just in case it was overlooked...
If you are using Windows XP, 7, or 8, then the editor plug-in won't work as expected in your DAW unless you have the Moog USB MIDI driver installed and working.
A quick way to determine if the Moog USB driver is running is to look at the name of the Sub 37 MIDI ports. If the Moog driver is running, then the ports are named "Moog Sub 37 In" and "Moog Sub 37 Out". If you are using the default Windows driver, then both ports are simply named "Moog Sub 37" ( as in paul_sub37's screenshot).
The reason for this is that the default Windows driver only allows one app at a time to use the USB device, meaning either your DAW *or* the Editor plug-in, but not both at the same time (which is what you want). This is fixed in Windows 10, so you don't need the Moog USB driver on that OS, but for Win XP/7/8 you do.

Looking good! I like that sequencer pagepaul_sub37 wrote:

A couple of Qs:
1 - I see there are sequencer SAVE and LOAD buttons. Does this mean that sequences can be saved and loaded as separate file types, so that any sequence can be applied to any preset?
2 - Is the LED BRIGHTNESS stored in the synth itself (if so I'd think we'll see it in the GLOBAL menu eventually)?

Hi Paul_sub37 and Amos, thanks for your help but I sorted it by installing the Drivers even though I am on Windows 10! It works absolutley brilliantly now thanks
. Cheers Glyn.

1 - yes, just tried that and it worked.
2 - it seems to be saved in the synth, as it remembers the brightness after turning it off, as far as I can tell it's global and non patch-dependent

1 - yes, it saves and loads sequences as .seq files. you can load these back into whatever preset you want.DrJustice wrote:A couple of Qs:

2 - led brightness is stored in the hardware. i just tried setting it to the lowest, turning it off and disconnecting the usb cable - on powering it back on the leds remainined at their dim setting.
not seen anything new in the firmware itselfziggomatic wrote:is there any new features and/or bug fixes in the firmware include with the editor?

Thanks for the replies lvdtsimulator and paul!
Separating out the sequencer data is a very good move. Adding functionality in this manner is going to make the editor very worthwhile for me. Good job, Amos and the Team !

I still find it weird with this forum how posts can suddenly appear in the middle of a thread due to members with low post count having their posts moderated - makes it look like I just plain ignored lvdtsimulator's post, but it wasn't there when I posted!

The arpegiator led doesn't dim. Is this normal?
