Same here, no sounds at all out of that SoundCloud. Everything else is playing okay.

yeah I couldn't get it to play either. I think I just uploaded it wrong

It could also be that SoundCloud messed it up when recompressing it.

What is the original audio format, wav, mp3, m4a, or something else ?

I was considering a prodigy for a while, but for a few months of looking I couldn't find one with CV jacks, nor could I find good info online about doing that myself.

If I were in that situation again, I would go for a Sub Phatty, but Im a big fan of USB and MIDI, as well as the "knob per function" goodness.

Umm I think I did it as wav

i've had the prodigy .
of moog it was the synth i least regretted selling.
the sound is oke, close to the mini, but the lack of noisegenerator and the limited possibilities made me sell it quickly.
almost all other moogs offer more: the old school, the phatties, the multimoog, etc.

the argument about old and servicing is not such a strong one i guess as , in europe at least, there are numerous peolple able to service and recap etc old analog synth's. the sound aspect is always the same discussion about character/ sweet spot and possibilities.

Prodigy is the closest model to Minimoog D regarding expressive, raw, vintage tone with the richest harmonic frequencies on open CutOff. It doesn't matter its lack of noise gen, user memories, presets and other "modern" utilities. The SOUND is much better (the SOUL and expression!!!) for lead solos than LP, SubP, Voyager or other newer synths. Compare Ibanez Tubescreamer vintage original from 1978-9 and the new one - its an original (Japan) too, but the sound of the new one is much more sterile, boring, lifeless. Prodigy vs Phatty, Voyager, Korg Arp Odyssey/Minilogue etc is the same difference. In my view Prodigy is better even than Rogue and Source regarding expressive lead / solo sound. But the same sound quality on bass and acid (with more resonance and fewer higher harmonics freq) sounds between them. Cheers

Although the Prodigy isn't bad, I think it's generally agreed that the Moog synth to sound closest to a Minimoog D is the Moog The Source, and by far. Even though it only has two oscillators instead of three.
But then again, only a Minimoog D can truly sound like a Mini. That's why Moog Music has finally decided to stop fooling around and produce it again.
