Looks like Moog Music just went ahead and won the race to the nearest star system or something. I wonder what the guys at Korg are thinking now... They're probably tearing up their plans for the Monotron XL.

So if you already have a Voyager, CP-251 and VX-351, aside from the ribbon and 5 Oct keyboard, are you missing anything???

The Midi Syncable LFO.
Missing only having all of that bliss in one self contained unit, though not missing how heavy it is probably going to be.

I hope they release the ribbon as a standalone product.

Yeah, you miss 1,5 octave, some extra wood, and a couple of things here and there.
And most importantly 1500 dollars.
The way I see it, is that Moog is milking the Voyager to EXTREME. First it's signature edition, then it's performer, then it's Select series, then they put some more colors, then it's Voyager OS, then it's Voyager XL, then what?
I easily passed. I was expecting a polyphonic but it seems that it won't happen. Too busy making Voyager XXL+.

Looks pretty damn good to me,

, actually suprised Moog did it ! glad they did
I'll be getting one for sure, now if they would just make some foogers in a rack mount
format with the jacks up front where they should be, like the XL, I'd be thrilled...How about
it Moog ? Moogerfooger XL's ...please

Based on this, a poly would cost about $1200 per voice. Which is exactly what I feared. If I had five grand to spend on this back breaking piece, I'd be getting one. I still await a polyphonic synth, and will continue to save my money for one, though.

And a very happy birthday to the MiniMoog, which started it all.

Well, I can't decide if I'm enthusiast or not. On one hand, i'm quite happy that this is basically the same thing that my Voyager + CP + VX (with a Persephone and a MP201, I don't miss anything), so I won't be tempted to buy anything more -after T3 arrival, it's good news !! But on the other hand, I think Moog might have lacked of inspiration. I can imagine the cost issues, so the panel part shares the exact same design as Voyager, and etc. but hey ! Where is the big news ?? What's the point having 61 keys on a mono synth ? And the "Voyager" name ? Who will carry this mono beast anywhere ? Sorry Moog guys, I own most of your today's gear, but this time, I did not have any butterflies, and I hate this...

Let me put it to you differently. For the asking price of a Voyager XL you can get 2 of these:
and now you have 4 voices of pure analog bliss.

my goodness, this thing is going be SO heavy...
did they secretly add any extra patch points on the XL just to point & laugh at original Voyager owners?

I have Voyager envy, until I think about the Foogers that I have, then I don't feel so bad heh.
Now the CP has the Midi Syncable LFO, which is nice, but are the attenuator pots midified as well, and the ribbon controls, what about the rest of the pots?

It says that " it starts with Model D Oscillators" .... ?
I am curious as to whether or not the actual Model D Osc's were recreated (ala Taurus III style) .. If so, I think that this is a different instrument all together...
Are they Voyager Oscs or NEW Model D circuit copied Oscs ??
I think owners of both Voyager and Model D (like me

) know how greatly the two Minis differ. So if they did use the old discreet model D osc circuit, this might be the best Minimoog ever! ?
