I suppose...but that would make it difficult to play the LP. Not to mention bowling, playing the Wii, soldering, etc. Besides, I would NEVER suggest a ribbon controller that was less than 30cm long. Anything less than that would be useless!

I would love - LOVE - to have the opportunity to buy a Moog chorus pedal. Of course, it would not be a simple two knob affair. It would have to have two chorus circuits with independent depth and rate knobs, a switch for parallel (stereo) or serial (mono) modes, and of course a couple of patch points in the back so that if the rate is set to zero the chorus delay time could be swept with a pedal, envelope, or similar CV input.

I'm waving $250 in your direction, folks.

That would essentially be two 104Z with some LFO features added, try putting a 1 before that 250, if not more...

I wouldn't mind seeing the ability to get the delay time shorter than 50 mS so we could get some flanger effects going on... CP assisted of course

Nah, not really.

The LFOs can be done in software. Not that it costs an ungodly sum to to it in hardware.
The delay times need only be a fraction of the 104Z. LEss delay = lower cost.

Given that I can buy a decent boutique analog delay pedal with several hundred milliseconds of echo for $400, I don't see a reason why having two short delay circuits of 25-50 ms and a pair of LFOs should cost well in excess of a grand. Not even the Moog premium puts it anywhere near the grand mark.

I don't know about a Chorus pedal. I mean Im sure that Id yearn for any Fooger that Moog made to add to my system, but really with delays and phasers, a chorus/Flange or something like that would definately appeal to that type of market, but do they really want to put their stamp on an already overdone effect is the real question.

Im sure that Id buy one but I personally would hope for something new and innovative. Like I want them to go into Bob's archives...find something and read his notes about it and develop that.

Im sure that it would sound really awesome though...maybe put a chorus flange in the same box so there woudln't be any folkx asking for a flanger pedal next lol.

I'm not sure what you mean by "overdone", Eric. As an effect, a chorus certainly no more or less overdone than a phase shifter or a delay - both of which have appeared on innumerable tracks. I can probably go out and buy three dozen flavours of each based on currently manufactured models alone.

To me, the USP of the chorus design would be the pair of truly independent circuits that could be switched to serial or parallel modes. There may be other units out there that do that, but none that I'm aware of in an analogue stompbox format. Add to that a LFO speed that could be set to zero so the delay time can be swept through an external voltage input and we're talking about something quite different from the mainstream of the market.

I do want to revise my $250 figure. Let's say $500. At that point it's offering a credible alternative at the same price point as the holy grail of chorus units, the CE-1.

Yeah that does sound nice and I think Moog could make it like noone else.

Any and all of that would sound good in the loop of the delay.
