I use it as a VCO as well sometimes.

Here's a quick clip I made. The MuRF's are not in use.... freqbox only.

anybody run a digitech whammy (or similar pedal) before the Freq? that would probably sound pretty sweet, get kind of a portamento effect

That is one Cool Video!!! Are you using the S&H from the CP-251 to trigger the MF-107? Did you use any MF-101(s) as well?
MF 102,White MF 103, MF 105B, Minitaur, and an LP Stage II w/ CV Out Mod as well!

Thanks

Yes, S+H is triggering the 107.

No other pedals at all. Only the 107.

Freqbox oscout into MURF (both will work) then MURF out (left/mono if you like) back into Freqbox audio in. Send the Freq's audio out into whatever you want after that! If you send the signal to a mixer and play with both Foogers knobs you can get a Buchla sound from the Moogs.

Pretty cool! Seems like a great way to spend an entire afternoon with your friends MuRF and 'FB'!

ok, I have an idea for a patch, but need to know something (I don´t have a freqbox):
is there a way with the freqbox to have it track at a steady interval to what I play?

WHat are you trying to control it with?

It is possible depending on what kind of equipment you have.

I mostly use electric bass guitar. I would want to set a carrier frequency on the ring mod, and this frequency changes with the notes I play...
other than the ring mod I have the cp-251. the low pass & delay are already ordered...

Are you talking about the Ring Mod or the Freq Box?

THe Freq Box is designed to track the input signal, whereas the ringmod generates two partial tones (a sum and a difference) so while your input signal will increase in pitch, you will hear an ascending pitch and a descending pitch along with your input signal. THe 2 pitches will then change direction once you reach a certian point.

THe Ring Mod WILL track only a control voltage signal like from a synth, and the freqbox will do the same thing, but this is with control signals only.

As for your bass guitar, the ringmod will make it sound neat but it won't effectively track it. THe Freq Box will do that job though, but I would reccomend at least one expression pedal since you have the cp251 and the delay on order. (I never really used mine until I got the delay) THe expression pedal is great with the Freq Box.

thank you EricK for the explaining.. I might have been quite unclear about what I want to do..
I do understand how the ring mod and the freqbox work. my idea was to use the freqbox tracking the notes I play, but at an interval. then connect the osc. out -> carrier in on the ring mod, resulting in the same RM spectrum on every note?

btw, you are right about the expr. pedals, I already have 2.

I don't currently know of a way to get it to track at an interval, even with the cp251 without a PITCH CV signal.

It either drones or syncs.

If you had the Moog guitar maybe lolol.

EricK

Lemme see if I follow you. You want the freq Box to track, but to use the Ring Mod Freq to sort of EQ it? I think thats possible, just not without a CV producing Bass guitar. Perhaps someone else will jump in with more knowlege than myself that can better help you.
