I'm at 5 foogers now, and a Freq Box is probably in the works before long.

I'll try to finish up my concept in the next few weeks and post a pic.

I haven't finished my "official" design that I want to build into a case, but was tired of bending over to twiddle knobs. So I got some lumber out of the shed and built this "prototype".

It's taller than I need it to be -- about 36". However, I'm thinking that I might want to leave some room to maybe add one more fooger bracket - and get rid of the CP251 bracket.

This is not what I want to build -- just quick and dirty, and has completely reinforced for me that this is what I need. I'm a bass player, so I'll always have a speaker cab to set it up on. I also find it eternally necessary to play with the knobs. I'm not planning so much to use them as stompboxes.

Anyway, I hope to get back to my design in the next few weeks, and to get something finished soon. This was a step in the right direction though.

When finished, it'll be about the size of a suitcase -- well protected and very portable, easy to set up.

thanks shakti

It's so low budget, but I wanted to post the "idea". I should have some more time this weekend to work on the finished model.

At this point, I'm thinking I want room for 2 more foogers - a freqbox and I think also another low-pass. so I'd have 1 fooger, CP-251, and a connection box on one of the brackets, the other two would be full of foogers.

I was thinking of another CP-251, but I already have an order in for an MP-201! That's going to be a brutal wait till april.

Anyway, I'll update my progress - be sure to post some pics of yours.

Is there a way that you can drill a hole in the vx-351 rack shelf to make it where you can mount just 1 cp251 in the center so that if you only have one then you don't have to remove the wood panel?

Yeah, I'm sure it could be done. If you were going to only use one, no problem.

But, since I'm planning to have maybe 7 moogerfoogers total I think I'll get a third MF rack and sell the smaller one.

Of course, it'll all work perfect until next year when another MFer comes out....

Here is a cool mixer case that might work well for the foogers.
Its the SKB gig safe:

http://www.skbcases.com/industrial/prod ... id=443&s=p#

14 rack spaces, enough room for 6 foogers and a patchbay, with one space left.
This can be used on the floor with the empty space in between the two fooger racks so when the foot is hitting the on switch on the top fooger rack, it will be clear of the knobs on the rack below it.
Im wondering how well this would stay up when placed vertically, or if there is some way o prop it upright sturdily for patching.

Im thinking about this one.

I have started to wire up my mini "Fooger Station" (an SKB 12 space pop-up mixer case), which I am dubbing as "The Mad Sceintist's Sound Lab". I have determined one thing: the six space MF Rack really is a Seven Space rack!! This is because of the distance taken up by the cables coming out of the MF pedals! I tried to use all right angle cables coming out of the pedals, but you cannot use right angle connectors and wire up all of the jacks to the patchbays as the right angle connectors get in the way of each other.

So, I am leaving one blank rack space between the MF pedals and the patch bay. This leaves 3 empty rack spaces (I also have a rack mounted power supply with lights) to mount some of the following gear: Zoom 1202 and 1204 digital multi-effects, Aphex 204, Alesis Microverb 4, rackmount tuner, oh choices, choices, choices!!

I've heard about this and wondered. What if I used a cable that was a right angle on one end (out from MFs) and straight on the other end(in to patchbay).
Would this allow me to mount the foogers in a twelve space rack, or am I screwed no matter what I do?
I really can't waste the spaces in my rack...
Can you take some photos and post them?
thanks and cant wait to here about your sound lab, you mad scientist!

This is what I initially tried. I could not right angle plugs to work with both rows of jacks on the MF pedals, so at least one of the two rows of jacks needs to be straight plugs, which then take up the extra vertical rack space.

I will try and post pictures, but I have not been home much lately, and I need more cables to complete wiring up to the patchbay (it is amazing how many cords are needed!).
