I recently came accross an interesting, disheartening fact. Some "true-bypass" loop pedals actually allow the self oscillation of a MF-101 (or any self oscillation from any pedal) through while in bypass mode.
The volume drops considerably, but the tone is definately there. 
If you use this set-up be careful as you could potentially wear out the speaker even though you think you're in the clear!!!!
