OK - summary: you have midi IN to the LP, no problem (that's how you updated the OS). You have no signs of midi OUT from the LP (nothing shows in MidiOx) - no MIDI OUT means no ability to export anything from the LP.

Got any other synths? Connect MIDI OUT from the LP to MIDI IN on any other synth that you know is working 100%. If you make sure that LOCAL CONTROL on the LP is turned ON, and you play keys on the LP and get no response from the other synth... then your LP MIDI OUT is broken. (assuming of course that you triple-checked to be sure that Midi Out is not turned OFF in the LP master menu).

If you can trigger another synth from the LP keyboard via MIDI, then the LP midi out is working and the problem is with your computer's Midi interface, which can send but not receive. If it's an LP problem, I can sort it out for you, no worries.

If it's a MIDI interface problem, hey at least you've ruled out the LP... call tech support for your Midi widget or just drop $40 on a MidiSport uno... I don't mean to plug M-audio so often, it's just I don't know of another 1x1 midi interface that is as cheap and reliable.

PS) it's always remotely possible you have a bad MIDI cable.

One thing to try is to set Local Control to OFF. Then connect the midi out to the midi in with just a midi cable (assuming it's a good cable).

Play a note, and if you can't hear any response, then it sounds like your midi out is not working. If it is working, then the problem is in your external midi infrastructure.

I did what you said and the midi light on my jv2080 blinked whenever I pressed a key so the midi out on the LP is fine. It's probably the cable. I'll mos def. get the m-audio midi interface. Also, Amos is it possible that you always post the EXE. file with future updates because it's so much easier for some of us.

Thanks!
