Ha, Tomita... my roommate brought home Tomita's Pictures at an Exhibition a while back. First time I'd really listened to one of his records. I thought ELP's version of that piece was crazy, but... Jesus.

So anyway, as I revive this dead thread yet again... I play in a kind of jam-band-style group that combines elements of rock, funk, reggae, improvisational jams, etc. I play my synths in real-time and do my programming on the fly, with no sequencers or memory or anything. We did, however, write a techno-ish dance tune just as a gag ("Let's Go Canoe!," it's on our myspace, link below), but it became our favorite song to play at shows. I guess no one's immune, ey?

Very nice, LGC is my favourite. We play a similar style - improvised, but more dub/funk/drum'n'bass etc.. I've made a MySpace, but haven't quite gotten around to uploading any music yet, and they're all pretty shabby one mic recordings anyway. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, latigid! I'd really like to hear your stuff. Trying to turn out a recording with one mic can be a drag, though. Can you multitrack at all? or know of a good studio nearby?
