thank you Moog for listening to the users, customers, and industry. you have made the synth product of the decade here! all i wanted my Sub Phatty to be...longer keyboard, all hidden settings on the panel....the right price....it will just sell by the bucketload!

i just worry about one thing...it was mentioned that it will be a "limited edition" synth only? what the hell? only making a few of the best synth release in years? are you kidding me? i waited a year for my Sub Phatty to arrive when every other dood who "pulled strings" of some kind jumped the queue in front of me....now you re telling me i might not even get one of these that i have been begging for on this forum?

it will probably be limited edition like the original little phatty tribute and voyager signature editor. then they will release a stage version with out wood probably... although I would really prefer they keep the wood

so the difference between the Sub 37 and the Sub 37 "Tribute" is just wooden sides? can anyone else confirm this is the only difference? ie. the actual Sub 37 model is not LIMITED EDITION just the "Tribute" version with wooden sides?

im confused...and paniking i will miss out on one!

Right now there is only one model, the "Sub 37 Tribute Edition". Anything else is just speculation at this point.

let me put this out as a suggestion....there will be a standard Sub 37 that will have black rubber cheek ends and be a silver panel like the Sub Phatty.

and then there will be the "Tribute Edition" which has the black panel and wooden cheeks and is limited edition.

Say what you want, but the Little Phatty is a classic and has it's place in Moog history and therefore, synth history. It may seem cliche but the four pots w/LED rings are not a handicap, they are a benefit. The RAC and the way various pot pickup modes function is wonderful and unique. Amazing that Moog started with the Tribute concept, found a way to make it affordable (relative to the Voyager, at the time) and subsequently went on to produce 10,000+ units in various flavors, color and editions. I can't be wrong when I say that the Phatty line sustained the company across all of the years between when Voyager sales peaked and today.

I bought my Tribute from a bloke in NJ that bought two of them new as 'investments'. It was buy-it-now on eBay for $1,000. A bargain for me. Subsequently, the 2.0 upgrade came along, the CV upgrade, the arpeggiator was added along with countless other features; what a journey. Beautiful wood end cheeks with the metal insert, screened panel, and solid construction. It was the first modern synth with 4 CV inputs (not counting the Voyager).

Well, after 6 years, I sold it (just). Despite owning a Voyager and other synths, I will miss it. And now this comes along! My friend is trying to talk me out of it but this is going to be tough not to buy one.

It's was a risk for Moog to jump into this but it was inevitable; their reputation is on the line, they put EVERYTHING into it. What's next? I think the limited quantity angle is a good bet, they are going to go fast and will have niceties that subsequent version may not. But the capabilities are numerous right out of the box, and likely, you'll see them build and sell 2,400 of them in 6-9 months. That's my guess; They will see where it all stands, then release the Stage version with some adds, the 2.0 software release and a more road worthy package (more tolerant for banging around). Who knows what else; we can only guess at this point.

CV out? Don't know, but I'm really excited about this and while I was prepared for something new to consider, I had no idea that it would be THIS compelling. Bravo, Moog Music.

Well, I understand wanting a sub37 but if I had a SP or LP I don't think I would sell it for the sub37 but rather keep it and chain them together somehow.

I wonder how well the cp-251 would play with the Sub37 or sub phatty? could it add a voice to it?
What I mean is could the lfo be used to make it able to play two keys at the same time?
