Admittedly the dumb part of this auction is less the price, more the fact that it is coming from Israel and takes 4-6 weeks to arrive...Voltor07 wrote:And people are dumb enough to pay that much for a fuse!
I've spent up to $6 after tax on packages of 5 fuses. Fuses are no longer cheap. The point here is, $7 IS TOO MUCH FOR A SINGLE FUSE!Kevin Lightner wrote:$7 is a bit much for a fuse, but neither are they 10 cents any longer.
Most Mini fuses cost around a dollar each now, but sometimes you have to buy them in packs of 5 (approx $5.)
What if you only need one instead of 5? Waste not, want not...Voltor07 wrote:I've spent up to $6 after tax on packages of 5 fuses. Fuses are no longer cheap. Then you put the remaining 4 on Ebay for $7 ea!kslight wrote:What if you only need one instead of 5?
Of course, I was being sarcastic....Kevin Lightner wrote:Then you put the remaining 4 on Ebay for $7 ea!kslight wrote:What if you only need one instead of 5?
Seriously, if you buy a pack of 5, you probably already needed one.
But let's just say that your Mini just blew one and you have no idea why.
Well, it might have an internal short.
So you replace the original fuse and power it back up and it blows that new one too because the problem still remains.
Now you're down to 4, but need to get the synth repaired.
After it's repaired, you put in another one and now you're down to 3.
3 extra fuses isn't all that bad because depending on which ones you bought or need, they can be used in other locations.
(there's usually 3 fuses in a Mini.)
So buying a pack of 5 isn't completely silly.
You might go through some finding and fixing a problem that's causing them to blow in the first place.
Keeping a few spares is not a bad idea for a 30+ year old instrument.
