I think the cool thing about 'under da hood' is that it is, in fact indeed UNDER. No markings as to fancy shifted keys on the panel, etc and I think that was smart.
A novice or even an intermediate enthusiast can do plenty of damage with just the panel controls alone. Many of the under the hood features can get you into a corner which is to say that without a knob/visual position and in depth knowledge of how one parameter has effect on others, it would be a bit difficult to troubleshoot/undo.
So my point is that up-front, it's all there. Underneath, so much more power with more to come possibly. Analog synth nuts, like most of us will revel in the fact that the BEAT parameter exists, or that the LFOs are shiftable as range. Had Moog equipped a panel for every one of the current under hood features, you'd see something possibly 50% larger (in terms of pots and indicators) and while that would (some would argue) give the perfect excuse for a 3 octave keyboard, it would come at some cost.
So let us be wow'ed by much of this and let the people that just want to add some Moog to their arsenal, get by with the what-you-see-is-what-you-get personality of the Sub.
Good stuff all around.
