Someone STOLE your A6?!?! That sucks! How'd that happen?

We were packing up, and I got distracted as I had other bds. with me plus mixer etc. and boom it was gone. At least ins. pd off but you all know how fast $ can be shuffled off to other things.

Don't feel weird, I have 4!! Two early versions, two late. They do one thing great, and that's why I have them.

Yeah, I love the sound of the Solina. It can be used in rather horrible, cheesy ways, but in the right hands, it is AWESOME. I love the trumpet sound on it, too.

don't want any budget synths. I want one arp2600+3620 mk3 orange and black unmodified. Can only afford one main synth- maybe one day I'll find it. Don't have the space for multiple synths either.

The "rare" Solina String Synthesizir. Wasn't that the original name, before ARP acquired the rights to it and issued it as the "ARP Solina String Ensemble?"

I don't know. That wasn't the first time - OR the last time - ARP did business like that. Before they bit the dust, they acquired the rights to re-package the Siel Orchestra as the Quartet.

Say, what do y'all think of the Quartet? Sure, it was little more than a recycled Omni, but what do you people think of it? Is it worth putting on the list of "budget synths?"

On a different note, I am glad that Pelican1 is exhibiting some patience. On my budget, I wouldn't be able to wait and save up for an ARP 2600 of any kind, let alone in orange & black with the 3620 keyboard.

No, the Solina String Synthisizer was basically an Ensemble with an Explorer I built in.

They were manufactured by B.V. Eminent in Holland. The Solina was the European version, and Arp relabeld them for the US market.

The Synthesizer version is pretty rare. I had a chance to buy one once and I wish I did. I'd buy one right now if I saw one for sale.

too bad they stole your A6. I wonder how anyone could have taken it without being noticed. This is a major problem especially with rack mounted gear. I think racks should have padlocks

Bummer about the stolen A6.

I still have a hard time with that one, there were so many ppl at and onstage when the gear was being torn down that my A6 and one of the guitar players Tele's was jacked. When we questioned ppl and called the police, they said they just thought the guys were with us as they just did it all so unasummingly. The A6 would be far easier to replace than my buds Tele thank god for him he always takes his as he calls them "gig gear" and not his vintage guitars. I started playing in the late 60's, had gear broken but never stolen like that.

I am on the wait list for the Future Retro revolution so will let you all know how I like it when it arrives late summer. There is an Opus on eBay that is very tempting. So much great gear I'd love to have and so little money.

Fwiw, I modded an Opus once to allow external audio to go through the chorus circuit.
