It's definitely an outage at Apple; thousands of apps are affected by this.
The "in-app purchase" system has started returning invalid data which is crashing apps on launch.
There are two workarounds I know of at this time:
1) turn on Airplane Mode or disconnect your iOS device from the wireless network
2) disable in-app purchases on the device. (Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases = OFF)
The second option means you can stay connected to wireless or 3G. The problem only happens when the app queries the in-app purchase server (which it automatically does on launch, normally) so if you're not online or you turn off in-app purchases, it should avoid the problem for now.
No ETA yet on when Apple will have this fixed, but I will keep on it.
Thanks!
Amos
Animoog crashing on launch v 1.0.2
Re: Animoog crashing on launch v 1.0.2
Thanks Amos! Fixed
Re: Animoog crashing on launch v 1.0.2
whatever was happening on Apple's side may have been fixed by now; I just re-enabled in-app purchases and Animoog did not crash on launch. Perhaps the storm has passed!
Re: Animoog crashing on launch v 1.0.2
The app is still showing 1.02 after installing 1.03 but the crashing is now fixed.
Re: Animoog crashing on launch v 1.0.2
See my post on page 1. The 1.0.3 iPad app has an incorrectly labeled splash/startup screen. If you downloaded 1.0.3, you are running 1.0.3 despite what the splash screen says. To verify on iPad:topaz wrote:The app is still showing 1.02 after installing 1.03 but the crashing is now fixed.
Settings/General/Usage/Show all Apps(if Animoog is not displayed)/Animoog
The correct version will be displayed here.
