Hey! I make electronic music as Prime Waves. I'll suggest a couple videos here:

Manipulating the sonic textures of an arp on Matriarch:

Playing the Matriarch as expressively as a wind instrument, for a piano + synth Zelda music cover:

There are also some full-length original tracks on my Youtube page. The style I would describe as Chillsynth-adjacent. You could perhaps compare it to Tycho.

Let me know what you think - enjoy!

I love using the Grandmother as a faux bass pedal synth:

Also love how distorted bass interacts with creamy Moog goodness...

(it was actually harder to overdub the Moog than I expected - I had a general recollection of what I was hearing harmonically as I was playing but took me a while to figure it out and memorize it - maybe next time I should try charting it out?!!)

Moog Sound Studio into Akai Reel-to-Reel

I recently took part in a "one take" challenge on a eurorack users group I'm part of. My Moog trio (Mother-32, Subharmonicon, and DFAM) is the modular instrument that I'm most comfortable with so I took it down from the shelf and patched, practiced, performed and recorded the following piece direct to my Akai 4000DB reel-to-reel in just over an hour from start to finish. I was really happy with how it turned out, despite (because of?) the challenge and time limitations:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liJrVAwlmxc

The Mother-32 is doing a baseline that is running to the Matriarch's delay (and adds a nice noisy background texture). The Subharmonicon is playing a simple four chord progression and is running into a BBD delay and reverb. The DFAM is doing a weird mix of kick, tom, snare, and synth sounds that are going through my Space Echo RE-201 on high feedback.

One new (to me) trick I tried with this patch was to use the Gate Out of the Mather-32 to trigger the DFAM. The sequence on the Mother-32 was 5 steps long but two of those had rests on them, so you'll see that the DFAM sequence kind of stumbles along, alternating between three steps and pausing for two. I think adds some interest to the overall piece as it means the sequences on the DFAM, Mother-32, and SubH are all moving in and out of phase with one another.

i often use Grids - a drum pattern trigger generator with three rhythm channels - to clock each of DFAM, SubH, and Laby. this changes up the combination of hits between synths from the built in 8-steps, and presents a bit more traditional beat pattern to the ensemble.

Here's a little tune I did on the Muse. It uses just two patches, one of which is a preset.

I've composed a piece for Cello section and solo Cello witch are accompanied by synths I sequnced in Ableton. At the beginning everything is immersed in reverb. Over time reverb becomes less and less dominant and other instruments can bring their natural sound. Sine wave bass covers entire thing for most of the tune sometimes being assisted by Double Bass.

Instruments / effects used:
Moog Matriarch (second melody voice)
Ableton Operator (bass)
Ableton Wavetable (first melody voice, second melody voice)
Valhalla Supermassive (reverb)
