Finally achieved something I've been aspiring towards for years, if not decades - and on Bob Moog's birthday no less! Subharmonicon + DFAM + Sirin + bass guitar:

Salve! Here is the last demo. Minimal ambient tribal and drone. A mystic journey throught the Sahara, from Egyptian border to the Hoggar Mountains. Pure analog synth (2M32 and a DFAM) as sound source. Recorded in one take, no overdub, no mastering. Enjoy and thanks for your attention.

Good morning! New single + instrumental version:
Bandcamp
Spotify

Jazzy broken beat house kinda thing with vocals by Bay Area Boogie queen Sally Green.
All synths recorded through UAD Neve 1073 unison. That thing's permanently locked in my Console.

Leads - Moog Sirin mostly, KORG Monologue accents
Chords, pads - Prophet Rev2
Rhodes, piano, strings - Nord Electro 3
Synth fx (space whales) - Moog Matriarch
Trap drum kit stuff, some tops - Abbey Road Vintage Drummer Kontakt instrument (which is amazing)
And a bunch of mix tools from UAD, Plugin Alliance, Noise Ash, KIT Plugins.

Mastered by Tim Xavier at Manmade Mastering
Artwork is a hand painted piece by yours truly. Molotow markers on cardboard.

My forthcoming 8th album "Gematria 4Moog" is about to be released. on June 21, 2022 This album is performed with prepared DFMA, Mother 32, Subharmonicon, Voyager and MF107 Freqbox.

Here is a video clip with the part 2 of Fraxinus, music from a centenary ash tree.

https://youtu.be/omno5B7NeDs

The album will be available here : https://jimpetit.bandcamp.com

About the prepared Moog synths and composition :

The oscillators, filters and enveloppe generators of the four Moog synths used in this album were prepared with my very own method by using a dowser pendulum. In this album, a centenary ash tree from my garden, a hollow beech above his barn in Mittlach - Upper Vosges valley and the source of the Lanterne river in the plateau des 1000 Étangs were analysed. Tempi and time signature were also determined this way.

The musical notes for the scores are both issued from the pendulum analyses and from gematrical* calculation, assigning a musical value to some words referring to feminity and european ash tree (fraxinus excelsior).

*Gematria is s the practice of assigning a numerical value to a name, word or phrase. As J.S BACH did, I translate the the numerical value to notes, notes length…

About the tracks :

- Gematria féminine : All synth sounds composed and performed using Moog’s DFAM, Mother 32, MiniMoog Voyager and Subharmonicon. Extra sounds played on two Weissenborn slide guitars, tibetan singing bowl and shamanic drum. Field recording inside the hollow beech was recorded the 4th of December 2021 (new moon) and the Lanterne river source was recorded the 17th of January 2022 (full moon).

- Fraxinus : All sounds composed and performed using Moog’s DFAM, Mother 32, MiniMoog Voyager and Subharmonicon. The Voyager is processed by a Moog Moogerfooger MF-107 FreqBox and by a 1970 Fender WahFuzz. Field recording of the rustling ivy leaves on the ash tree-trunk and birds singing on the ash tree branches were recorded the 24th of march 2022 at the sunrise.

Has been 15 days since I got the Studio 3.

It has been an amazing journey through presets, videos (many from you, thanks!), books and anything that helped me to get more comfortable with the synths and how I can navigate them to find my own space in a limitless world.

I documented the process and put together a playlist where I can go back and enjoy the results. My only goal was to reach 20 tracks and here they are.

https://soundcloud.com/modestnudist/set ... al_sharing

Everything has been recorded Live, without edits, trying to get as close as possible to a live gig. I used the Studio 3 (DFAM, Mother-32, Subharmonicon), 606, Neutron and touches of a 101 and a Model:Cycles.
It is mostly Electro/Techno with some more downtempo bits...

Any comments are welcome.
Thanks!
