Ok, so it won't be a bass synth... and there will be 16 presets/patch memory... and stuff:

I got to this thread late, but found this statement to be...uh, surprising.
There are a lot of females who enjoy synths.
My own wife enjoys playing with them.
She likes Roland System 700s the most, followed by Buchla 200 modulars, Arp 2600s and Arp 2500s.

As a follow-up to my original statement: What I should have said was "I don't personally know any". I think what I said kind of sounded like "women who play synthesizers do not exist", and that's not what I meant. I'm sorry if I came off a bit brash, I did not intend to belittle our female community members. I guess the feeling I was originally trying to express was unclear, so I will rephrase: I wish there were more of you. I overstated myself, and I ought to think things through a little more before I speak. As you were.

Well, if the specs posted on Gearslutz are legit, this thing is just about perfect. It does seem kind of like the next logical jump up from the minitaur. Makes perfect sense for this guyyyyy!!!!

Either she's toasted or she has spent way too much time messing with the buchla. That happened to me when I got my mini in the mail. I sat for 18 hours messing with it without food only breaking for the bathroom. I have never been so spaced in my life, and that's saying a lot.

Didn't notice this post earlier from that other forum:
Pre-Ordered from my buddies shop.

will be sending out the official product announcement later today, but just wanted to give you a quick ‘heads up’ to the new Moog Sub Phatty. Photo will come in the next few days. The public announcement will be 1/21/12 and expected delivery is March.

The Sub Phatty has the soul and hands on control of a vintage Moog synthesizer in a completely new, aggressive sound design machine. It has 25 keys, 31 knobs, and 13 switches that connect you directly to the analog heart of this powerful instrument.

Its oscillators have been designed to perform with unmatched clarity, and accuracy in any environment with no warm-up time necessary. They are fat, punchy and loaded with harmonic content.

A new Multidrive circuit in the filter section totally transforms the sound of this analog synthesizer into a screaming beast. Create gritty attack, asymmetrical distortion, and saturated hard-clipping sounds that tear through the densest mix.

The mixer section houses a powerful square wave sub oscillator designed to add depth, thickness, and side splitting bass to any sound. In addition to this, a specially voiced noise generator has been incorporated for sculpting hard hitting, all analog percussion sounds and other sound effects.

The Sub Phatty joins the Moog arsenal with a new and boldly unique voice. Its engaging and dynamic interface fuses a connection between man & machine that opens the door to unprecedented sonic exploration.

BTDT! There's a story in ANALOG DAYS, about how she lived in her small NYC apt. with nothing but that modular and how heartbroken she would become whenever she had to ship it back to California and wait for Don to repair it. I could totally relate to that! :!:

Nothing but respect from me for Suzanne Ciani - truly one of the synth greats no matter what anyone says.
