Songs Featuring Minitaur

Post by muksys » Mon Apr 02, 2012 9:38 pm

Wasn't a thread for this, so I'm startin one!

I used a lot of Minitaur on this one as well as a lot of LP.

Enjoy & Thanks for listening!

Just recorded a couple at electrical audio in Chicago, finished up synth overdubs back home in Eau Claire. I wish I could share them already!!!! The Eau Claire studio had a sub hooked up to the monitor system, so when I blasted bass it shook my GUTS OUT.

Oh, and here is another jam with Minitaur handling all low end duties: Epic Bad Guy Theme Music.

Other bits:
Little Phatty
Mutable Instruments Shruthi-1 (with IR3109 Filterboard)
DSI Mopho Key/Tetra
Roland Juno-60

Thnkyah for listening!

As soon as it's ready I'll be posting the HELL out of it. Albini had nothing to do with it, other than exchanging $400 of our dollars for the use of half his studio for a day :)

Hard to tell, but we use the MT to double up on pretty much most of the bass lines (the heavy parts anyway). I'd say the Minitaur is now our most used synth. It's pretty much in every song start to finish, playing along with the bass.

Well I've written a few tracks using the Minitaur for bass so here is two of them.

and

I would have to say the second bassline in the first song is one of my favorites I've ever written and its entirely because of the amazing sound of the minitaur

Both of these have minitaur on simultaneous bass and drum filtering/gate duty, no over-dubbing, I just plugged the drums into the filter when recording the bassline.
