Heya!
I'm using the MOD WHEEL S+H to modulate the Filter Cutoff, but I also want to use the same S+H to modulate the AMP Envelope Release.
Is it not possible with the Voyager to modulate the Amp Release with the onboard S+H using the PEDAL/ON?
Cheers,
Jürgen

Re: Amp Release Modulation
I dont think this is possible.
What are you trying to achieve ? Do you want random release times or do you want to hear the release section of the envelope grow/shrink as the sound decays ?

Re: Amp Release Modulation
He wants short release times when the filter freq is high/ long release times when freq is low or the other way around
sounds cool in my head actually

Re: Amp Release Modulation
Should be doable via potmapping.

What pot mapping settings do you think should do it ?c7sus wrote:Should be doable via potmapping.
I tried and failed.
Re: Amp Release Modulation
I went to edit > 5.4 > Pot Mapping S/D > Edit pot map 1-4 > SRC & DST Pot Map 1 and selected the mod wheel as the source and the volume release as the destination. I set amount at 100% and normal direction.
On the hardware side of things select the S&H as the source for the MW and the filter as the destination.
Sounds like it's modulating the release and the filter cutoff at the same time to me. The mod wheel also seems to add to the release value if you increase that knob.
If I switch the destination over to filter resonance I'm getting S&H'ed resonance movement. Amount of modwheel controls how much goes to the mapped pot.
Try it on the Glocken preset.
I just realized that the patch I described above doesn't use the PEDAL/ON.
If you wanted to use MOD2 you could patch the cv output from the S&H with a VX-351 into the MOD2 pedal input and pot map the MOD2 signal to VOL Release. The amount knob for MOD2 would control the amount.
Either way you burn one of the pot maps.

Re: Amp Release Modulation
Sweet. Thanks c7sus.
When I tried it I was using the pedal mod bus and could only get it to change between release full on and full off, and the change would only happen while a note was held.

Re: Amp Release Modulation
Just to be sure I understand,
A - What pot mapping is doing (in terms of mapping a physical pot, such as the mod wheel) is enabling you to send a control voltage to the selected destination that is based upon the mapped pot's position. It does not send the mod buss cv to the mapped destination.
B - Mapping the mod 1 or 2 inputs will send the cv that is present at the mapped input.
So, I don't see that the first method would work (it will vary the release time based on the mod wheel position but, will not send the s&h cv to the release parameter). The second would work. Any additions or corrections would be appreciated.
