MP201: Each button only outputs one midi channel/cc, right?

Post by nrvana8775 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 6:39 pm

Is there any way to make it that ch1 outputs more than just one midi channel/cc/pc/lfo?

I would like to have channel one send midi clock to a few instruments, but it seems like a waste to put it in quad mode and use up all four channels just to send midi.

Is there a workaround?

MP-201 Ch1:
Strymon Timeline (ch 9, cc93)
Moog Murf (ch4, cc9)
Eventide space (ch5, cc43)
Vermona lancet (ch3, cc11)

How can I set it up to make only one button control these four midi channels?

I have ran into a similar limitation. Each switch can only be assigned to one channel. My recommendation is the quadra through from midi solutions. Helps to avoid massive midi daisy chains. They about 100 bucks.

Easy to use, predictable gear.

You could send a midi clock to the MP-201 and set it's Midi out to merge/thru so the midi clock passes onto your other units. You can then use the channels to send your messages without using one for the midi clock.
