Slim Phatty Display Imperfection ?

Post by MikeOxford » Sun Oct 23, 2011 12:09 am

Hi Guys,
I bought my Slim Phatty a couple of days ago and I love it.
However, today started cleaning it a bit and noticed something weird with the display's glass.
The glass that protects the display is actually like 1 cm shorter than the actual display, so there is a little gap on the left side.
Is this the same for you guys or is it just that mine came with an imperfection?
I'm pretty sure I could get it replaced from the store if this is the case.

I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks :)

Anyone?
Could anyone have a look at your Slim Phatty and let me know if you gave a little gap on the left side of your display??
That is, the protective glass that sits on top of your actual display is a little shorter than it should be, leaving a gap on the left side.
Is this normal?
Or s it an imperfection of MY particular unit??
Please, it'll take you 1 minute, and you would save me a trip back to the store with is 65 KM from where I live.

Thanks :)

Hi.
Did you mean 1cm or 1mm?
The glass in my SP fits perfect!

thanks for your reply man
Went back to the store and got another one, however all of the new units I saw had this problem, some more than others.
It seem like the protective glass is manufactured a bit shorter than the actual display, leaving a gap, which is in some cases 1 or 2 mm and in some other 5mm...
Don't understand why Moog would do something like this...

I just got one today (used). Presumably not yours ;)

I have a 1mm gap on the left, plus the LCD itself is ever so slightly canted to the right. I suspect if I cracked it open I could adjust a couple screws to fix both issues.

Yes, I have 2 SP and both have like a 2mm gap on the screen plastic protection
No big deal but it says something about quality control.
But then again maybe they were very busy developing new apps for iPad, iPhone :-)

I also have 2 SPs, both have a small gap, maybe 1mm, between screen protection and edge. Only thing that bothers me about that is dust getting in, so I always keep them covered when not in use.
