Hi,
I was wondering about the association between Old School & xOxbOx?
Is the xOxbOx a good sequencer and does it match perfectly with the cv in & gate in from the OS?

I can't speak for the x0xb0x, but I've got my Roland tr-707's "trigger out" connected to my Old School's env-gate. It turns it into a nice pulsing, one note arpeggiator.

be aware that the OS doesn't track it's pitch CV at exactly 1V/Octave...so you're either going to need a simple mod doing or use a CP251 to trim your incoming CV from the xOxbOx to get properly scaled sequences.
other than that it should do the job nicely I guess.

I have used the CV from the FR Revolution (similar to the xOxbox) sequencer to control my Voyager Performer.
Voyager Performer, Taurus III, Etherwave Plus, MF 102, 104Z, 105, 107, CP 251, VX 351, Future Retro Revolution, DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard, Korg Triton Extreme, Hammond XK-1
Re: Old School & xOxbOx ?
Maybe the Performers' CV in is different ? I have an OS & was trimming it with a CP-251 to get it to track pitch accurately, but I've just had my OS mod'd to exactly 1V/Oct now to free up my CP-251 mixer..
It's a well known quirk of the OS that the pitch CV isn't exactly at the 1V/Oct standard - so you might get it playing a few notes accurately as is, but it certainly won't be properly scaled once you get over an octave or so.

Re: Old School & xOxbOx ?
did you have moog do the mod to set it to 1v/oct?
if not, do you know what was done to get it to that voltage?
thanks

Re: Old School & xOxbOx ?
Yeah - the guys at Source / HHB ( UK moog distribution ) did it for me - my OS had to go back for repair under warranty so I got them to do it while it was there
I think its pretty simple - removing a resistor & adding a trim pot to the analog board ....
Ryan at Moog mailed me about it when I enquired via Moog tech support.

Re: Old School & xOxbOx ?
just a heads-up:
to correctly trigger the Voyager OS GATE from the x0xb0x I had to first run the gate signal through the CP-251's "attenuverter" (the knob goes from "-5" through to "0" in the middle and "+5" when turned fully clockwise)
I have to set it at just-to-the-left of 0 in order to get the GATE to work properly - strange, I know - but true!
