Voyager Electric Blue OS 3.5 update problems

Post by pritee_piksuhl » Mon Dec 20, 2010 5:59 am

Hey all,

I hate to post on a topic which has been covered previously, particularly on my first post, but I am running out of options.

I am having so much trouble updating my Voyager Electric Blue to OS 3.5. I have been searching threads on this forum for three days with no luck at all!

I have tried the bank order suggested in the release notes and I have tried the bank order suggested by others (B, A, C, D). Nothing! The OS update appears successful but the Voyager will produce no sound, even after sending the factory presets. Well it will produce some weird sound in some patches.

I have tried MIDI-OX with the suggested settings and no dice. I have tried the Elektron C6 utility through the TM-1 interface and it appears to work better but still no sound :( Is anybody else using C6?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am happy to downgrade just to get the Voyager making sound again :x

I'm sorry for the troubles.
Please take a look to the MASTER menu page 5.1. What version shows the display for the system and the boot OS? Are you sure that you downloaded not the RME version for a keyboard Voyager?
And please make a reset (MASTER menu, page 4.4/+1/ENTER/Factory Reset).

Hi Rudi,
I downloaded the Voyager Keyboard OS 3.5 from the Voyager Electric Blue software page.

I also tried sending the 'Preset Bank for Voyager OS 3.5' and '4a) Voyager Presets' downloaded from the same page after the update was completed. I used the the RECEIVE PRESETS process outlined in the Voyager manual (pg 67).

The system and boot OS both show 3.5. I tried the FACTORY RESET (pg 69) and it does not appear to do anything in my situation

Is it possible for you to connect a MASTER or MIDI keyboard to your Voyager and test it?

I have had a chance to test the Voyager with both my sequencer and other Midi hardware and still no sound (except the strange clicking noises I was previously getting). The Voyager is clearly receiving Midi though.

OK, then your Voyager got a hardware problem. Please contact Moogmusic in USA or if you're living in the EU rudi at moogmusic dot de.

Hi,

It's not sure, but I had the same problem with my old Old School. (Since I use an Electric Blue with no problem...)
There was a trouble with a converter, which converts the keyboard's digital signal to analog.
The service changed the bad chip, and after everything goes right.

So, try to switch the "3 KB CONT" to ON, and screw the oscillator 3's octave to 1'.
Probably, the clicking will change to a continous bass sound.
If it will be, then the problem is the same which was mine. I think...
But of course, please go to a near Moog service!

Sorry for my english, but maybe you understand me... :)
Ha Moog, legyen kövér... :)
