Re: Moog Slim Phatty, aka WTF is this? :)
If these hit below a certain price point, I'm definitely buying two.
I can just dream of 4 extra OSC's, and a 4 voice poly moog with these 2 combined with my LP and V RME.
Even if they do announce a fully fledged poly moog, This will most likely be a cheaper way to get polyphony for those of us who want it.
I'm just hoping there will be some way to expand them with CV outs... wether with a attachment or CV ins/outs on the body (tho for price issues I am not expecting that)

Just received my American Musical Supply Fall 2010 Catalog.
There's a Moog SlimPhatty Desktop Synthesizer listed. Looks like it can be rack mounted. Its not on the Moog site yet and I can't find any pictures online. It has a great price for a Little Phatty without the keyboard. $799.00

I can see the only drawback is STILL no inputs on the front.

Re: Moog Slim Phatty, aka WTF is this? :)
Status for the trade mark "Slim Phatty" is: "Final review prior to publication has been completed, application will be published for opposition." and the date November 9, 2010 is mentioned.
For comparison the trademark "Little Phatty" was published for Opposition December 27, 2005 and the trademark was eventually registered on October 24, 2006. Just after the release of the Little Phatty in August/September 2006 (?).
If trade mark registration usually takes this long, I'm just wondering if Moog will take the chance on releasing the Slim Phatty this year - before the trade mark has been registered...?
Just some thoughts...

Re: Moog Slim Phatty, aka WTF is this? :)
with this price, imagine: no box, no knobs: guess the price might be lower.
maybe even 2 voices of this ( or more ) can be in the same box for 1000$ ?
so count 4 of them , and , voila my 8 voice polymoog has arrived for a bare 4500 euro's !

Yeah... starting price is 800$, so... when they've been out for a while and people are selling them used etc, I'm sure you'll be able to find em for 500$... When I can get 2 of these for 1000$, thats when I'll be buying... at that to my rack on top of the Voyager RME, playing with my LP, and thats the 4 voice poly Moog I've always wanted.
