Tuning and Buttons
Tuning and Buttons
Hi all,
i'm having a little issue with Auto-Tune on my Stage 1 LP. when my LP is set to Auto-Tune it doesn't accurately tune the pitch of the oscillators, sometimes it can be as much as 30+ cents out of tune. I've updated my firmware to 2.2 which was a nightmare (see previous post) but still have the same problem.
Also the buttons on my unit are a bit stiff, in the sence that i have to push down quite hard to get a response.
are these two issues a common problem with the stage 1 Lp, or have i got a faulty unit???
Cheers
Andrew

one thing i haven't mentioned is that i bought the LP second hand and it had a fault that the control knobs used to change by themselves. it turned out that the power supply needed a transistor which resolved the issue.
not sure if that has something to do with it, but i certain the power unit and the synth itself are separate

Did you diy the power supply mod, I am curious because sometimes mine does that, especially if the phatty is plugged into a different outlet than the amp/mixer. I've learned the work around it on the phatty, but it sends midi junk at the same time, which makes it impossible to use as a controllerplainlazy wrote:one thing i haven't mentioned is that i bought the LP second hand and it had a fault that the control knobs used to change by themselves. it turned out that the power supply needed a transistor which resolved the issue.

happens to my lp sometimes, change of room temperature or something, but moste of the time it appears to be osc2, cous overall tuninig was ok.plainlazy wrote:so can anyone clarify, is it normal for the oscillator to drift out of tune by 30+ cents?
i experienced also global tuning issue several times in two years, nothing to worry about.

the global tuning of mine does frequently go out by 30 cents, i'm contemplating whether i should re-calibrate my LP. i am using the tuner in Logic to analyse the pitch of my synth, so i might try a guitar tuner instead just to make sure.
i'm not using tuner of any kind, i use digital piano instead, i tune manual and when i'm done, i go to auto-tuning function.
re-calibrating your lp might be a god idea.
