Yes the moog folks are very careful and clever in their wording when talking about moog products. I remember a video with cyril awhile back where he said something like "it (the moog guitar) only works with cv at the moment" and look what we have now.
My modular so far: Q104, Q106 x2, Q107, Q108, Q109 x2 , Q116, Q118, Q127 w/Q140, Q130, STG Wave Folder, Mixer and Mankato playing with Moog Voyager, VX-351, CP-251, MF-104M x2 ( STEREO!) Volca Beats and Bass, Arturia Beat step
I think we'll be seeing more of the T3 circuits in other form factors. It would be cool if they could retrofit that into the Voyager as a factory update, though it would also be cool to see it as a 'fooger in a VX-351/CP-251 form factor as well!
You can bet that they're going to leverage that design, and get some mileage out of it.

With a black back panel & grey rubberized sides? I don't think the price would be lowered enough to boost sales much beyond the current run of 1000. I think a table-top or rack module makes more sense from a sales point of view, or how about this? The Mega-Phatty Keyboard - the Taurus engine in a Phatty keyboard package?
But what good are Taurus pedals without the pedals and the optimized foot friendly interface?
You guys are just looking for a $1,000 alternative Phatty like module that you'll play with some cheap Chinese manufactured Midi pedals? or is the thought that it will be a 1.5 Octave mini-synth that will only be used for Bass?
Not bashing, just curious...

Possibly both, but neither option for me - I already have my T-3s w/case on order - I'm just thinking of potential uses for the engine other than a pedal synth. No need for cheap Chinese-made pedals, people could buy the Italian-made Roland or Fatar (the same folks who make the Taurus pedal assemblies for Moog, as well as the PK-5s for Roland) pedals. And instead of a Stage Edition as proposed earlier, I would rather see a Nova Musik Special Edition Taurus 3, with whitewash sides, white main pedals, and your choice of electric blue, jade or indigo-illuminated wheels & buttons.

like i've said before - Moog should release it as a rackmount/tabletop. you're not the only person wanting this capability. i know some others whom would love to replace their novation bassstation with this.Russian Hammer wrote:It's not that I want to use some cheap Chinese midi, it's that I don't want to use ANY pedalboard...
great news on the shipping update Klopfgeist. thx for info. ima stomp all over my set when they arrive.

A rack might work (you'd need strong rack ears), but i think a tabletop one would be a) too large and b) would make most table's legs bow if not break.timmy wrote: like i've said before - Moog should release it as a rackmount/tabletop. you're not the only person wanting this capability.

Okay, let's say that all 1,000 T3's sell (and they will) and the demand is still there, when WHY wouldn't moog issue additional units rather than release an alternate version as in some kind of desk top device? I am not in the financial position to be one of the lucky 1,000 (since being laid-off) and would love to own a set when I become more solvent. If this is just a tease by moog then I think that's a little sucky don't you think? If they've got a hit on their hand then why not take advantage of it. It's a win-win situation for both the company and the consumer. Am I missing something here??????????

Im actually on my way to the Factory this afternoon, going to talk with them hopefully about some things.
I don't know how they could downgrade this unit much, unless it was a rack mount synth only perhaps. I mean, just swapping out the wooden sides for rubber sides isn't going to be much of a downgrade.
I haven't watched the video yet, but the 700-750 sounds about right from the last time they mentioned any numbers.
As far as a New Fooger, I theorize a Taurus FIlter MoogerFooger would be of great signifigance. Id settle for just an audio input on the T3 myself, but Ill get what I can get.
