voltage controlled wah pedal/bandpass filter
I am new to electronics, and this forum, but my idea for cv implementation on an effect pedal, such as a wah, is simple, just replace the pot with a vactrol, which receives the control voltage. I have yet to try it, but i too have been thinking about adding cv to my wah, as well as a switch for multiple resonance settings.
Welcome to the forum! Let us know how that works out! I believe that it will work, but there are a number of factors to consider when doing this. Good luck!jeepo wrote:I am new to electronics, and this forum, but my idea for cv implementation on an effect pedal, such as a wah, is simple, just replace the pot with a vactrol, which receives the control voltage. Hello, I did this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSaDV3AZzKY&t=15s
Read this article completely, it tells everything about wahs http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/w ... wahped.htm
And watch this great doc : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOHZLX1qY48 (Cry baby the pedal that rocks the world)

Re: voltage controlled wah pedal/bandpass filter
I wanted to know if any knew the difference between a potentiometer and a rheostat. I found this article that explains a little bit but doesn't go into detail https://www.derf.com/rheostat-overview- ... planation/. Does anyone know the difference / have more detail to offer about it ?
Any and all help would be great, I cant figure it out they seem to be identical.

Rheostats are made of several different materials, such as, metal ribbons, fluids, and carbon disks. Potentiometers, on the other hand, are made with a resistive element, usually graphite, which is formed into an arc and a sliding contact or wiper that travels over the arc. The wiper is connected to another sliding contact to another terminal, and can be made from resistance wire, carbon particles, or cermet.jacobgoona wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 1:21 pm I wanted to know if any knew the difference between a potentiometer and a rheostat.
