Micro & Rogue recordings

Post by hieronymous » Sat Jul 25, 2009 12:15 pm

I recently got Ozone 3, so I've been going back and slowly remastering my music. A couple that I redid are pretty Moog-intensive, so thought I'd post them here.

The first is from at least 2004, if not earlier. It started with just the fuzz bass and drums recorded at my friend's studio in Massachusetts, then all the synth stuff was done later in Berkeley on a Micro and MF-103 phaser:

I found a picture, but ImageShack is being weird, so hopefully it will magically appear at some point but for now the thumbnail will have to suffice...

The next one is from a couple of years later - I'm not too good with these dates! Probably 2006, I was living in Japan at the time, the drums were recorded at the same studio in Mass., but I overdubbed different bass parts (8 string & 4 string) and a Rogue this time for the synth parts (+ the phaser & RE-201 Space Echo & maybe MF-104 on the solo?). All the overdubbing was done in Kyoto.

next to last

No pictures of the Rogue, unfortunately. I sold it when I moved back to the States.

So...where's this picture? I can't see this picture. :?

I do like this music, though! Very nicely done!
Minitaur, CP-251, EHX #1 Echo, EHX Space Drums/Crash Pads, QSC GX-3, Pyramid stereo power amp, Miracle Pianos, Walking Stick ribbon controller, Synthutron.com, 1983 Hammond organ, dot com modular.

I know! I don't know what's up - ImageShack has been having problems lately. I'll see if I can repost it.

Inspiring stuff.
The bass-solo on "next to last" is superb.

Got a new one - well, actually a REALLY OLD one!

get to now (rational mix)

This is probably my first recording with the Micro - my guess would be Spring 2003. I recorded the synth parts in Berkeley to a click track, took it to the studio in Massachusetts and overdubbed the drums (Greg DeGuglielmo) and bass (a vintage Gibson EB-2), then the voices and guitar back in Kyoto, Japan.

I don't exactly remember, but the Micro is probably just going through the MF-103 phaser directly into ProTools. This is the first time I have ever posted this tune on the internet by the way!

Thanks! And I completely forgot - the delay on the voices is my MF-104 delay, which I bought in Japan for about $450 in 2002 or 2003.
