Very nice indeed! What kind of bass is that?fidooda wrote:got a new bass last week and was playing over some random songs in my playlist.Stopped on a song from ghost by NiN. liked the melody so i made a quick cover.
The Phatty's patch is my own. I create them from the calibration patch. that was a fun couple of hours:

i really liked it...REALLY.Assar wrote:Ok, so I got inspired by the thread once again.
Here is a piece with just the Little Phatty and my old Roland TR-707 drum machine (from the early 80s).
It's the 'German School' and some kind of tribute to you-know-who. Good or bad, you decide ...

especially the middle part. Makes me think of Zombi on their first album Surface to Air.
good job!
Sweet bass!fidooda wrote:thanks

Thanks!
It definitely needs something extra but I can't figure out what it is, perhaps a vocoder will do the trick.

You're welcome. That was the first thing that came to mind.
It's a nice spacey track, but that could add a nice touch.
Making heavy use of some toasting techniques (like emphasizing and exploiting the advantages of the throatsounds) combined with the frequency possibilities of a vocoder could give some unexpected new (usable) sounds plus you get something different from the usual toasting thing, while keeping the rhythmic advantages of something traditional that works (I don't know if that makes sense...)
It's up to you to then make it more than 'just a -sound- gimmick', but judging by your video you should be doing fine.
Vocoder would be great for that kind of spacey atmosphere. The trick will be not to overuse it.
Keep us posted about it.

http://ia301542.us.archive.org/1/items/ ... Taurus.m4a New track up. Not sure why there are so many clicks in my latest stuff. Not sure why the volume is so low, either. My guess is an impedance mismatch between the audio in of my Mac and the LP. I'll do some more experimentation regarding that. Not that anything I do is worth high quality, but I try.
Anyway, just a Taurus patch with some ribbon controller thrown in. Nothing special.
