104z a tonesucker

of all the foogers i find the 104z the least satisfactory sonically: and least benifits from overdriving the input. I would like to be able to leave it engaged all the time and a bring the delay in and out using the mix control but i find the unaffected signal to be heavily compromised - when I hit the footswitch to bypass the signal quite noticibly springs back to life. I can't find an input level which matched the bypassed level and which is also fairly clean

seem to me this pedal is only satisfactory of an fx bus, which i don't use live

anyone else found this?

What is your input signal?

my input signal is the mf102, somewhat overdriven

With that setup, I would probably run the 104Z Drive control all the way down and use the Output Level control to get the volume right.

fwiw i usually run mine in a parallel loop, with it 100% wet... that takes care of any problem I could have with it.

using the input at zero and the output at almost 100% gave a much better signal than I was getting before - it still doesn't sound quite as sparkling as when the unit is bypassed, but its a lot better

You're welcome! In my experience, proper gainstaging is important to get the most out of the Moog pedals, especially when working with a passive instrument (like a guitar) and an amp that expects to see an instrument level signal (like a guitar amp). The Low Pass FIlter, in particular, can be tough to dial in in a guitar rig.
