I am wondering how to make my foogers a bit more giggable and transportable, especially on planes. Has anyone had any luck with pedalboards or cases? Powered or otherwise...? the rackmounts don't seem ideal for this. I probably need to travel with 3 - but 5 would be nicer...
It would be great to see some pictures of setups that people have found work well. Please post yours!
many thanks

I play bass & gig with a pedaltrain2 w/ 2 foogers (101,102) and a bunch of other pedals on there, powered by voodoo lab pp2+.
but I am running out of space already (expr. & volume pedal are on the floor), have the cp-251 lying around and the mf-104z ordered...
so I need a different solution also, plus I am not sure if I can take the pedaltrain2 as carry-on on a plane, which I have to do in 2 weeks (I used to put everything in a bag, but I got tired of setting up & breaking down at every gig)...
oh well.
I thought about 2 pedaltrain JRs, but the softcase is not of good quality. I like the pedaltrain construction (aluminum, you can hide the cables & power supply underneath), but the softcase is a shame, mine broke after 1 day of use! hardcase is not so great for me because of weight (travel by subway most of the time).

I snagged 2 padded cases for holding 10" DJ mixers, made by Odyssey. I don't see this model on their web page anymore, but some of the others should work. I can fit 2 Moog pedals in there, and there is a little storage area at the top that is perfect for holding my Microcon and Cyclodon.

Using the largest pedal train, you can fit 6 foogers and a CP-251 all on one board, and even have room for an expression pedal, tap tempo, and a small fx loop box. I don't have any pics but it does work quite well... you can mount the power supplies on the underside of the board.
If your going on the plane spend the money on the hard case, so you don't have to replace your foogers every time you get off the plane.
Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

I think I´ll be going this route soon:
get a pelicase (undestructable) for my 3 foogers + cp-251. I´ll screw them on a wooden desk (have yet to find the right material) that fits into this case..
then I´ll have a 2nd board with my fuzzes, volume pedal, etc. maybe I´ll get a pedaltrain jr. because I can mount the pedalpower2+ beneath, or maybe something else... softcase here, because of weight, and because of the small size it shouldn´t be a problem getting this as carry-on luggage on a plane.

please keep us posted on the pelicase - do you know which model would fit the 3 foogers and CP251?
I also think about going that way: 2 pelicases cases, one to carry into a plane cabin with computer and ridiculously irreplaceble stuff and one maybe quite large one to check in with foogers, kaoss pad etc... to have them build in with PSUs and ready to go makes a lot of sense
I don't trust really SKB/gator crap for flying and the monstor type plywood stuff is just too heavy if you are your own roadie

sure, I´ll keep you posted - don´t know any specifics yet. I have a lot of gigs in the next couple of weeks so I don´t know when I will get to realize my plan..
just one thing to keep in mind about the large pelicase - I don´t want to check any of my equipment in, not because I am afraid it will get damaged, but because sometimes it won´t arrive on time. my friend plays a doepfer system and used to check in his case, and a lot of times the case wouldn´t be there, the flight company would deliver it a few days later. he suspects that they fish the thing out because they don´t know what it is and check it for explosives. if this theory is true or not I don´t konw, but if you´re touring and have a gig every day in a different city this is something to consider..

yeah, its a nightmare with planes nowadays. I'd like to do the whole thing as a carry on but I can't seem to make it small enough - plus really bleep european arlines, like ryanair, have a 10kg carry on limit. So I am trying to get as much as possible onto a laptop, but I need some organic anaog reality for my sanity... I can't seem to leave the house without at least the ringmod and bassmurf in my bag!
but these days I find it very stressful never knowing if my gear will arrive in time, arrive smashed, or never arrive at all... its taking the fun out of things for sureet more and - to the point I get more and more interested in studio composition and involve myself less in actually performing
but I believe I need to perform to keep the blood flowing thru what i am doing...

yeah, airlines..
I am in europe as well, btw. I usually traveled with skyeurope, and when I checked in my bag with clothes they didn´t make any hassle if I wanted to take my efx bag & bass as carry-on.
I am flying this weekend with my band (4 people) and we are trying to take a doepfer case, 2 laptops, a moog prodigy, some cymbals & my stuff as cary-on.. we´ll see how it goes ; ) (not sure which airline though).
