Moog Guitar on order

Post by Gamaliel » Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:09 am

Greetings all,

I placed my pre-order for the Moog Guitar (aqua) yesterday and hope to receive it around the first week of Oct :D
I was a lil hesitant because of the price and the demo's out there. But then I heard Phil Keaggy play one,and that was the deal maker for me.I'm not knocking the players on the other demo's but Moog needs to show what the guitar can do with different types of music,blues,rock..etc.Also it would have been helpful to hear the guitar without the sustainer, straight and dirty going thru each pickup combo. After all it just may turn out to be my primary guitar so hearing it in all applications and some effects thown in(fuzz, overdrive, rotovibe, wah)would have made my decision easier,LOL!!!

Phil Keagey is a really awesome guitarist. Id like to se that youtube video.

Im wondering if the moog guitar can be used exactly like a regular guitar.

COngradulations to you!

Id like to play one and perhaps order one when they release a Moog Guitar Standard.

Yep,the guitar can be used as a standard guitar,it has piazzo, bridge, both pups in phase, both pups out of phase and neck pickup. Not sure if you can blend the piazzo with the standard pup's,but you can in sustain and mute modes.

Aye I'll be having a big party,I think champagne is in order

I have a voyager as well,and I'm not a keyboard player LOL!!!
I"ve always wanted a mini moog, but I always needed the guitar gear more,so a few months back I splurged and bought a eb voyager.I'm loving it very much and can even play some nice bass lines :)

My Moog dream guitar

Post by shakti » Mon Sep 08, 2008 2:42 pm

i love the sound and concept of the new moog guitar (not the $$ tho).
I also love new innovative guitar technologies.
I also love indian music and improve based world Music (hence the handle, shakti.

I would love to take the gibson robot guitar technology for instant tunings, an Eyb sitar bridge (OOP) for getting that killer sitar buzz from a guitar, coupled with the moog pick-ups for endless sustain, and drones. Then is add some extra playing strings on a second neck, or mounted underneath the playing strings of the guitar at a 45 deggree angle.

I have wanted domething like this for years and now the technology is here.

yay!

what would you do with this technology that advances its general purpose?

LOL Voltor, actually I like the shape, which is good since I ordered one.I have a bunch of guitars and mostly I buy them not because of the way they look, but how they sound and feel.
Shakti,I have a early Jerry Jones electric sitar that I've used a ebow with and it sounds great. This is the first time I've heard of the Eyb sitar bridge and it looks very interesting.I only wish that Moog had put the roland pin on the guitar as I have a vg 8,with tons of alternate tunings that I programmed. One of my favorites is having all 6 strings tuned to e.I've used the ebow with the vg8 quite alot.
