Wish list to Moogmusic...

Post by sir_dss » Mon May 07, 2007 5:43 pm

Wish list for MOOG:

Moog Analog Drum Machine:
Has CV in/outs for each voice. A TR-808/909 KILLER. Almost like a Korg Electribe ER-1 but top MOOG quality.

Modern Moog CV Sequencer:
2 channel 2-24 notes/points, both quantized and non quantized outputs, Midi sync in. A ARP 1601 KILLER.

Pitch to CV converter:
Like the rumoured MF-106. This would open so many doors for people who have never played synths to play them. CV and Gate outs.

And I know... EVERYONE wants a poly synth. It's not that interesting to me actually. You could always get a rack of RME's.

Are people actually excited by this Moog Moogler? It seems crazy... I imagine a few people wil do some patching at first but mostly Moog staff people. It's going to get boring real quick. It might be interesting if you could load non-Moog CV controled things like MOTM, Blacet, Modcan, .com synth modules as well is effects like Lovetone that have CV in/outs too. If not, it's just going to be another advertisement for the pedals/synths that you don't own yet, creating want, envy, and gear lust. An advertisement that you are paying for.

As stated before, it would be better to have new instruments and controlers rather than things like this.

Release the FreqBox. 8)
Music can Name the Unnamable and Communicate the Unknowable.

'I am... everything is... changed... they're calling... your face... interwoven... who is...' Patient mumbles inaudibly to a tune (sounds like 'Thanks for the memory).

I hope I don't get too much negativity from this one, but my wish wouldn't be a new product. It would be authorized Moog service centers set up across the world.

How about a bunch of clone Kevin Lightners to fix all of our vintage synths!

I'll have one of my clones deliver this order tomorrow.
Smooth or nutty peanut butter?

It's phanny (sic) that this subject turned to be about foods!
Also, here in Greece where I'm, summer started already and people think about ice-creams!!
Back to subject, I think service centers would be nice but I don't know if Moog could afford them (ok, we know that they aren't so big like the jap companies) But I wish they would make it.
Also in my wish list is a Moog Modular 900 series remake, as exact it could be.
BTW, do Modusonics (former Moog custom engineering) still selling modules?

Moog has some authorised service centers... not many, but each distributor overseas has an authorized service facility with full access to schematics and Moog parts.

"Little Phanny" would not, I think, have sold very well in the UK. ;)
There might have been protests...

and I'd rather a Crunchy Frog than the Spring Surprise! :D

1. Update of the Taurus 1 pedals, 1.5 octaves, velocity and aftertouch. In addition to aftertouch, side to side key motion as an additional controller would be great.

2. Well-paid Kevin Lightner clones with baking skills. Some fresh-baked cookies with repaired synthesizers would be awesome.

I wish Moog would publish the calibration procedure for the Voyager. Those of us who have Voyagers long out of warranty would like to be able to do our own tune ups without the expense and hassle of sending the Voyager back to HQ. We can already open up the Voyager and install optional circuitry ourselves (like the expansion board), so why not allow us to do the same thing for tune ups?

I only request that Moog build a factory where they make their own analog components in such excess that they'll be available for centuries to come.

Is that so much to ask? Jeez.
