I read through some of the posts about the noise level of the Moog One (I have the 16-voice), but I couldn't find anything about this specific issue.
I've experienced this issue since I got the One in 2022 - when I'm playing the One, there's an even, high-frequency (white) noise that's sort of "attached" to the sound, meaning that I don't hear it when I'm not playing the synth, but I hear it when playing, and then the noise disappears as soon as the sound fades away after the release stage. I can always add a lowpass filter to remove this noise after recording, but I'd rather find another way around it, if it's not normal behavior.
I do realize that a lot of people are hearing noise when turning the volume knob higher than 12 o'clock and playing the synth - I was just wondering if it's the same kind of noise as this, or if people are hearing a constant noise, i.e. also when there's no sound playing on the One.
I have turned noise reduction all the way up in the synth settings, which helps for the general noise level of the synth when idle (i.e. not played), but there's still noise when there's sound being played from the synth. It's the same problem for the main outputs and the headphones - there's noise in both cases. I've also tried plugging my synth into different wall sockets / outlets to see if it's a ground issue or something like that, but there's no audible difference.
Is this a common problem or just something that's natural to this kind of synth?
Other than this, it's truly a beauty AND a beast of a synth! Perhaps it's only natural that a beast has some noise?!
Thanks a lot!
High-frequency noise when playing
Re: High-frequency noise when playing
This has been discussed many times in this forum. If you search for "noise" you get a lot of posts about this theme. For example, a very old post:
