Minitaur power supply?? How many milliamps?
researching some of the voodoo labs power bricks to power my pedal board. What are the power requirements for the minitaur? The manual says: 12v DC positive tip. 7 watts consumption. What is the milliamps requirement? I swear that the power supply that came with it is 12v 500ma, I'm going to double check when I get home. It seems to operate ok, although there is about a 3 second delay on power up. When I switch on the power supply, it takes about 3 seconds for the lights of the minitaur to flick on. Is that normal?

Re: Minitaur power supply?? How many milliamps?
sorry i was tripping. the power supply is a 12VDC 1200ma. is that the required milliamps for this? 1200ma?
Re: Minitaur power supply?? How many milliamps?
Minimum is 1200ma.
Gear list: '04 Saturn Ion, John Deere X300 tractor, ganged set of seven reel mowers for 3 acres of lawn, herd of sheep for backup lawn mowers, two tiger cats for mouse population control Oh you meant MUSIC gear Oops I hit the 255 character limi

I know it’s been forever but I couldn’t find this answer either so I’m bumping this thread so that others know.
The power supply is 1200ma but that doesn’t mean that is the minimum.
To calculate the current (in milliamps) for a 12V DC power source with 7W power consumption, use the formula:
I = P / V
where:
• P = 7W (power)
• V = 12V (voltage)
I = 7W / 12V = 0.5833A
Convert to milliamps:
0.5833A × 1000 = 583.3mA
So, the equivalent current is 583mA (or 0.583A).
Some devices have consumption peaks at startup but it looks like one can power the Minitaur with much less.

Just check the label on the bottom of your unit. Mine lists 12v/250mA.
