How do I reinstall my original DFAM back into its original case ? I had in in a modular rack and ran out of space so I want to put it back into original case. I can't get screws aligned when trying to slide it all back together. There must be a track to get the back retaining spacers aligned so I can screw the anchor screws back into the case for mounting.
Thanks

Hey there! I feel your pain—reinstalling the DFAM into its original case can be a bit of a puzzle if the screws aren’t lining up. I’ve done this before, and it’s tricky but doable with a little patience. The key is making sure the retaining spacers (those little metal standoffs) are properly seated in the case’s tracks or slots before you try to slide the module in. If they’re off even slightly, the screw holes won’t align.
Here’s what worked for me: First, loosen all the screws on the DFAM’s back panel a bit—just enough so the spacers have some wiggle room but don’t come off. Then, gently slide the module into the case, keeping it level and applying even pressure. You might need to jiggle it a tiny bit to get the spacers to catch the tracks inside the case. Once it feels like it’s sitting flush, look through the screw holes on the case and see if they line up with the spacers. If they’re still off, try shifting the module slightly while keeping it pressed in.
If that doesn’t do it, double-check that the spacers are the right height and haven’t gotten swapped or bent from being in the rack. The DFAM’s manual doesn’t cover this super well, but I’ve found that starting with the middle screws first (once it’s roughly in place) can help anchor it and make the rest easier to align. Tighten them just a little at first, then go back and do the others.
