Voyager operating system

Post by Pianoman » Sat Mar 08, 2025 4:54 pm

I have an older Voyager that does not have the hardware upgrade installed and only holds one bank of sounds.
It is on OS version 2.5. Does anyone know what the latest OS version is that I can install without the upgrade.
SN# 1835

Thanks

I have OS 3.5 . I have 896 presets. There’s a more current one 3.6 I believe if I’m remembering correctly. I never upgraded to the latest OS. My voyager is from 2015. So it’s 10 years old.

Okay. Mine is from 2006 and I thought without the hardware upgrade I couldn't go past OS 2.5.
Thanks for the info. Will be updating to the latest version.

Backup your sound first!
This is a good thing to do before updating a synth!
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16

I updated the OS to 3.6 but I no longer have a receive presets option in master mode. Only send presets.
Not sure how to load Sysex preset files. Please help.

Thanks

When I updated the OS, it didn't take all files A-D. I started with A then it asked me to send C and D but not B.
I did it a second time and started with bank B and it asked me to to send C and D but not A.
Is there a certain order that they need to be sent in?

Thanks

are the two versions (boot and system) 3.6?
You will find it in the MASTER menu. You will find the SysEx enables in the MASTER "MIDI Enables" menu.
Take a look in the middle of the PDF and you will see infos about the order of the bank A,B,C and D:

I reinstalled the 3.6 OS by trying to follow the update file order you sent but it didn't ask to send bank C.
I sent B then A and then it asked me to send bank D but I wasn't asked to send bank C.
The boot and system numbers are both 3.6. Everything looks okay except that I still don't have an option in the master menu to receive presets. Only to send presets. How do I send preset banks from the computer to the voyager?

Thanks

Okay, I think I have everything working now. To load sound banks you have to go into master mode midi enable and set it to system exclusive. Thanks very much for the help Rudi!
