Moog Grandmother ADSR/Envelope Issue, Retriggering Note

I just purchased a brand new Moog Grandmother and am having an issue with the attack decay sustain release. When I press a note and allow it to get into the sustain portion, as soon as I release the note it retriggers the same note at a higher volume. Is this normal operation for this synthesizer? I would have expected it to just release the note and gradually fade out rather than retrigger it before doing so. I am using envelope for the VCA mode. I've tried resetting the global settings. I have nothing patched, just normal operation.

Is it connected to anything with MIDI?

No it is not connected to anything, nor patched. In a different forum it was suggested that the VCA bias trimpot needs to be adjusted but it not very easy to get to. I've been trying to get in touch with Moog customer service, but no luck yet.
