Model D reissue noise & crackling

Post by fardoche » Tue Dec 12, 2017 2:01 pm

Hi, first post and new to this forum.
For some reason my Model D reissue is quite noisy and was wondering if this was normal or not... I'm noob with analog synths and love noise but unless I'm missing something it doesn't sound like it should be THAT loud...

Here some samples :
(the panel controls is set to be in tuning procedure as in the book)

I press the note and as I raise the oscillator volume you can hear the noise before and while it's being played.

oscillator 2

oscillator 3

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks in advance :D

Not normal at all -sounds like a bad connection. I assume you swapped out the cable and tried a different mixer channel? Try headphones - do you get the same thing? Try exercising your Volume knob and Main Output switch a bunch of times.

Hi,

I have the exact same issue on my Minimoog D 2016 reissue.

I have tried:

- New PSU + cable
- Check all audio outputs with different audio cables, plus DI box
- Different power outlets including conditioners and line filters.
- Cleaned pots of residue.

I fear a tech might need to look at it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
