Of course you'd recognize the SVC350, SC, I know you have one... that you've been neglecting! Hee. ; ) I've been neglecting mine as well, actually... but not for another vocoder... like SOME people. ; )

OK!

Here are a couple for Eighties Freaks!

Oooh!... Can't you just hear those 8-bit orchestral stabs and the gritty-sounding "Arrr"s !? Lovely!

Still going through some changes as I really dislike my current locale and the PEK is starting to grow on me. I may also add a PER and replace my JP-8000 with the new SH-201. My studio is put together around House Music but I'm branching further into Jazz and may add an S90ES since I can't seem to find an Upright Bass or Reed instruments that I'm satisfied with except on this instrument.

Well, i'm just recovering from a divorce (need I say more?)...

For many years my equipment was packed away (much to my dismay).

So, I am now re-establishing my studio. I have a few photos but I thought i'd start out with something unique and rare. So, here are two photos of my rather dusty Mellotron 4Track... Its not much of a photo...

From my understanding, there were only four 4Tracks made.

And a few of my other things...

One of my racks:

My Poly Evolver Keyboard:

I also have some other racks of effects,MAM VF11, PowerMac G4 running DP4 (soon to be DP5), Korg MS-10, Korg Poly-800, Alesis ION, Kawai K5, Yamaha CS-6x (w/DX and AN boards), Ensoniq SQ80, Roland R8 and R8m, Yamaha DX-200 and AN-200, Akai Z4, Roland VariOS, and an Evolver module.

My divorce was done two years ago and I'm still recovering. The good news is 99% of my music gear was pre-marital and off-limits from splitting the assets.

my favorite is this. I hope to build a great modular. It's an ensemble in REAKTOR 5.1 . My keyboard is Kurzweil MIDIBOARD.

So was mine :) but much of it sat for long periods of time, etc.

My ex was a very posessive and controlling person. I had to keep much of my gear at my mothers because when she was angry - look out!

I had my Cs-6x for about a week before one of its keys was mysteriously broken.

Five I think!

A great rarity indeed, a lovely thing to own and on the face of it a good idea - using conventional tape widths in a 'Tron, and tracks easily switchable on the fly.... But in practice neither reliable nor as 'hi=fi' as the standard 3-track Mellotron. And real Mellotrons are British!! ;)

some of my favourites in my rig: (little phatty on order) Danelectro Reverse Delay (it has a sort of three-stage phaser in it and sounds awesome, much more so on keyboards than electric guitar) Danelectro Sitar Swami (awesome drones...it'll play without anyone playing anything and sounds good) Gibson les paul studio, casio vl-tone (!!!), Yamaha psr-6 (only good sounds are the vibes, reed organ and sine wave)
all into a marshall mg-250dfx

current set-up

Post by quiet_channel » Mon May 08, 2006 12:20 pm

in one of my live bands i play a korg dw-8000 for pads, synth strings, and other pretty/spacey sounds. the midi out is run into a kenton 2-channel midi->cv converter with lowest note priority so that i can play bass, drones, and other monophonic lines on my heavily modified moog prodigy module. the prodigy is run through a home-made octavia fuzz-octave-type pedal, a dan-echo, korg toneworks 301dl delay, small stone, small clone, and cool cat chorus.. though not usually all at once. ha.

i play bass in the same band. some of our songs include higher-frequency synth drones which ring throughout with very slow oscillator modulation and chorusing run through a delay or two. . (i'm always finding spots where one of my hands is free to tweak the synths/effects. . there are a few parts where i manage to handle the bass-playing and synth-playing with one hand dedicated to each. . and lately, i've also been using the moogerfooger expression pedal to accomplish small synth parameter changes during songs..)

the whole synth set-up is run through two 2x12 cabinets on each side of the stage. . and run in stereo.

that band plays guitar-driven drone/ shoegaze/ ambient/ noise/ psyche stuff a la mogwai, radiohead, isis, sonic youth, my bloody valentine, etc ..
