Dear Moog Music forum,
Does anyone have any experience of using an external controller to map the ‘hidden functions’ of the Sub Phatty / Subsequent 25?
I’m looking for a device that can stay connected independently of a computer - Using the DAW app is fine but feels a bit divorced from hands-on control.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome

Hi Francishunt, welcome to the forum!
I'm not aware of the state of the art but if smartphones or tablets are a viable option for you, there must be some sort of MIDI programmable apps out there.
Otherwise, what you seem to need is a programmable MIDI controller; the form factor and "programmability" -if I may say- will make the difference, I guess... MIDI Solutions boxes? Used Doepfer Drehbanck? Others exist

Hi stiiiiive,
Many thanks for the reply - The Drehbanck looked cool - shame they discontinued it.

I use my DAW and the Roland MC 707 to control my S37, but nothing fancy here.
You can use any hardware sequencer that can send midi messages to do this.
Arturia Keystep is a nice option.
The korg sq 64 should be able to do this.
And I'm sure there are many hardware sequencers that can.
