Moog One crash / hang

Post by TheDigitalMan » Mon Nov 30, 2020 4:05 pm

Hi all - I'm now the the forum. I picked up my new Moog One last week and it is amazing. I've managed to crash / hang it three times since I've got it. I think usually something to do with the arp. Wondering what others experience is and if it's typical.

It is running the latest firmware.

Thanks in advance.

If your M1 is connected via MIDI, you may have created a MIDI loop, which would cause a hang.

Thanks for the reply. I have USB connected to it from my Mac (for Logic). No midi.

That will be the issue. Although not sure why you say no midi?

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking no midi as in no midi cables (in, out, through) that would create a midi loop as was suggested.

So sorry, why would the USB connected be the issue?

USB is just a modern replacement for traditional MIDI cables. You can create a MIDI loop regardless of the type of connection. Check your setting on M1 and in Logic. Especially the MIDI clock routing. Please note that M1 doesn't have yet a proper "Local Off" mode for interfacing with a DAW.
