Voyager Velocity Control of Output Volume

Post by garyv » Sat Apr 04, 2020 8:23 pm

Is it possible to use keyboard velocity to control the output volume via the Volume Envelope. I've been trying to implement this using Pedal/On Bus without success. It would be great if velocity could be used directly to control the output volume.

Use Pot Mapping in the EDIT MENU to do this.

First lower the MASTER VOLUME knob to the lowest volume you would like to play with very soft velocity.

Find the EDIT Menu page "Edit Pot Map 1-4"
Select "SRC & DEST Map 1"
Set SRC to VELOCITY ATTACK ("attack" because there is a release velocity too)
Set DEST. to MASTER VOLUME
Set DIRECTION to NORMAL
Set AMOUNT to 25, 50 or 100%
Try different AMOUNT setting to suit best with your playing. If not already set to suit you, you have to set the global VELOCITY CURVE in the MASTER MENU to best results.
The Pot Mapping setting are stored with the patch, not global. So you need to add this to all patches you would like to play dynamically with velocity.

(I hope I did not miss a thing, as I am not next to my Voyager right now)
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16

Very nice Till. You didn't miss a thing. I can see there are some tweaks I will need to experiment with to the get the desired response. Thank you.
