New Subsequent 37 Video

Post by _DemonDan_ » Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:45 am

Hi Gang,

I collected all of the patches I've been experimenting with on SUB 37, SSQ 37, and SSQ 37 CV, and then voiced them specifically for the Subsequent 37 hardware upgrades:

Hi Dan,

Great video as always. So patches created on the original Sub 37 are completely compatible with the Subsequent versions? I know it has more headroom but is there anything technically different about the sound engine that would screw up patches created on the original? Have you loaded Sub 37 patches into the Subsequent without tweaking them? How do they sound in their original, unaltered forms? What is the major difference in sound besides getting cleaner duo patches? Sorry for all the ?s. We're trying to figure out if we should release the patches we have for the Sub37 or do the upgrade first. You have to be the most experienced human or hoofed creature with both. :D

Thanks for your time Dan!

Randy

Hi Randy,
Honestly, if you didn't have both a SUB37 and a SSQ37 next to each other, and you heard a bank of presets for the very first time on the synth it *wasn't* made on, it wouldn't occur to you that these presets were made for the other synth.

Hi Dan

Very nice video! There are a couple of patches that I'd like to disect to better understand how you acheived the sound.
Any chance to make those available to us forumites?

Thanks

Hi oli@sub37,
Sure. If y'all pick five of those presets I'll post them here.

Way cool!

I‘d love to see how these five are made:
- On The Run
- Two fingered soundtrack
- Massive
- Statistical Analysis
- Max LEDs

It was hard to decide between Massive and Power Pulses, seems to be the same basic sound but both have interesting modulations going on. And these are some other sounds, I really liked
- FM LFO
- The Fat Nest
- Power Pulses
- A gritty Romance

Thanks for the video, always great to hear and see the capabilities of synths we already own but maybe not explore sufficiently!

Way Cool!

Sorry I missed your posts back then. Just saw it last night, downloaded the patches and tried them. There’s definitely some tricks in your sound design I‘d never thought of.

Thank you very much!
